T13 is really cool, just sayin

I don't know if it's the music or what but this fight is just invigorating. Mechanically it's simpler than t9 but I think it feels more epic, especially with the music changing, and the adds phase can be hectic and their names hit you in the feels once you know the full story. Sure the learning curve in the last phase ain't bad at all, but I think SE did an incredible job with the last phase for one reason and one reason only: it feels like a classic Bahamut battle.

In older games he stood there charging his abilities. In here, he's getting stronger with each ahk morn and you're throwing everything you've got and even though the mechanics aren't insane, you're likely to screw up if only because YOU FEEL THE PRESSURE PUT ON YOU, by the music, by the DPS check, by the fricking insanely big tornadoes, everything. Just so cool.

First time we went in, we were all so excited from the music, we made it to phase 2 after a few attempts and the music then changed and we were all too busy saying how amazing it was in TS to notice what was going on and we just wiped.

The fight is a great end to the coil series, I'll be sad to see bahamut go...for now?

I also think the holmgang and hallowed ground strategies are just so cool. I feel like every class gets to shine, especially in our party make up. It feels like a movie or something. And man when the war does holmgang it's the coolest "come at me bro!" ever, then the paladin does hallowed ground and it's essentially, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" So yeah, it's too epic.

I feel the opposite, it's nothing but recycled mechanics with a few twists. Now just make it big numbers and call it a day. It's just not the same excitement as T5 and T9, both of which have unique mechanics, T13 feels like "I have already done this before".

I do find T9 more exciting, fun and complex than T13. However, how "Answers" is played through the fight, depending on the phase and the whole visuals, are just impressive. It does have recycled mechanics, but I think that's because being the final fight is like going through every single turn of the Binding Coil. Now if you did and cleared Savage, you'll find it both easy and dull.

T9 is my favorite coil by far and I think T9 is my favorite music soundtrack in the game. I've gotten so good at T9 I can keep alive in phase 4 for a long time even if the rest of the party is being derpy lol. I know how to dodge misplaced divebombs, how to run away from screwed up fire placements and how to avoid being double iced from screwed up fire placements. Watching other people's thunder screw ups.

You will clear T9 a lot more if you take the initiative to avoid other people's screw ups instead of letting them kill you and bitching about it :P

T13 is bleh... I didn't like the phase 2 music, phase 1 is ok I guess. It just feels like a high stress fight to me and nothing more. It doesn't give me the same feeling as T9. I join almost every T9 clear party, learning party and farm that shows up in PF I even got a reputation for my T9 abilities LOL. If I make a T9 farm in PF it fills up cuz people know me :P

While the atmosphere for the fight is top notch, I found it to be pretty weak mechanically. It's all stuff you've done before and the last phase simply felt lazy.

Answers is a great track but I'd have liked it if they touched it up a bit for the final confrontation, especially when you get such an amazing rendition of it with the Phoenix theme.

I do agree that mechanically it's simple but I think square Enix still did a good job of making it feel amazing either way. It doesn't really feel lazy to me, but rather a culmination of everything that has come before leading to ONE BIG FINAL MOMENT.
