Can we ever hope for Pokemon style Minion PvP/PvE?

I see no reason not to let us battle minions down the line, implement even more minions and have people compete against each other and against NPCs in minion battles.
If done right it could be amazing, really hoping we'll see something like this down the line, hopefully sooner rather than later.

We could fight anywhere, anytime with other players and live tournaments and such could be held every week and month, these tournaments could be streamed on big screens in the game for the whole server to watch, it'd be awesome.

Or maybe a better pet system for Summoners to make them a bit better.

You know, ffxi had something where you had a "camera" thing. And you used it to steal creatures souls, and make them battle in an arena in white gate (or something like that) it's been a while, but yeah.

I'll go on the record again and say that I actually liked WoW's pet battle system and would love something similar here.

back when I played WoW early 2006-early 2009 this feature didn't exist but I always wanted it, I remember making people do pet battles with me by rolling and whoever rolled the bigger numbers would win

It was one of the most popular features Blizzard had ever added to the game and it was (is, just saying was because I'm not player WoW now) an awesome time waster. I like having more optional frivolous content like this and gold saucer to distract from the grindy stuff.

Some of the minions you had to have bought or been there for an event. I'm not exactly in favor of that.
