    Formal Request for movement physics and ranged auto-attacks for casters

    Hi guys gals and devs, I come here to make a formal request for an option to toggle a movement scheme like the new mobile version. I made such a request in the past but there was some skepticism, understandably so. However, with the mobile version we have seen such a movement scheme be attempted and succeed, so I'd like to reiterate my desire for a movement system. Specifically, I'd like to be able to toggle one based off the new mobile version of the game, with deceleration and stopping movement animations and also, if possible-though I understand this is more unlikely- ranged auto-attacks for casters.     Despite how it looks the mobile game (from my understanding) is an entirely different client running on entirely different coding to the ‘main game client’. Like, the similarities are all visual rather than technical.

    Thus, the mobile game is able to implement a lot of things that they couldn’t/wouldn’t do for the main game. But at the same time, that also means none of it is actually ‘portable’ between each the two versions. Since they’d still have to develop an entire new movement system from scratch to use the same one as mobile does on the main client. Similarly with attack/skill animations that exist in the mobile version but not the main game.

    That was my understanding of it anyway.

    It's true they are being made by completely different developers and it's completely different code. Many of the differences are just to account for reducing hassle for mobile users, who may not have a lot of time to play due to using it while on a train and needing to get off at the next stop.

    However, I am sure they will do things that they have struggled to achieve in the main game, because I genuinly don't think other developers would have some of these struggles.

    I don't know what the movement system is, but there are a lot of options here (Standard vs Legacy, reducing movement physics, etc).

    Casters don't have autos because you don't auto while casting. Ranged Physical DPS have ranged autos because they don't cast.

    Over time, casters have had reduced cast times (Red Mage and Healers) or removed cast times (Summoner), but all of that is really just to allow for "slide casting". I doubt the developers really care about auto attacks on them and their potencies are meant to account for the lack of autos.

    I'd rather not get shrekt accidentally in orthos with a ymir or drake scale buff because I somehow swung ranged.
