Isn't this just for Alexander Normal, wouldn't it just be that Alexander Savage is the "True Progression" now? I don't see an issue with this.

From the sounds of it, it seemed like the same system as is in place for the crystal tower, you can need one item per week and after that still run it but not lot on any loot.

Surely this must benefit everyone to some degree as when you could only run coil once a week sometimes you could only get loot you already had, or for jobs you didn't want it for, at least in this way (a good, non selfish static) will keep going until everyone on their static has the best piece per turn, this means they can make the higher turns harder because they know instead of everyone only having 2-3 pieces of high level gear the world firsts will gear the whole party out in a piece from each turn (if necessary) before progressing further, although I assume this would hurt the crafting market quite a bit since that lowers the need for the new melded crafted gear to cover the gap from previous to next highest ilevel per patch.

In negative consequences it might mean you find out who the selfish people are when they seem to disappear when they get their loot every week and leave and don't want to rerun a turn that they get nothing from, and the fact that it doesn't mean log on for a night do whole of turn 1-5 and log off. Instead you might have to devote a few days to farming to gear everyone up.

A positive (or a negative) is that currently by the time the mid patch is out and the non raiders are given access to the highest gear some raiders still haven't got theirs due to bad luck. So now with this kind of system in place the raiders are likely to have a full set of gear (if farmed every week) in no more than a few weeks after being able to clear the final turn. As this seems very fast I think there is more to this loot system that hasn't been mentioned since this would seemingly lead to all the raiders gearing up to max far before the next content is released leading to a very bored and restless hard-core player base.

If as mentioned by the above poster, it is for just normal and savage is still following on the old loot rules then it would make far more sense in my opinion.

    This so much.

"Oh no, the cliques who run 4 turns with eachother every reset now have the ability to run it with other people."

Personally, I'm looking forward to the removal of the excuse "I cleared that turn for the week already "

-And it turning into "I got my drop from it for the week, ask someone else" in FCs.

    A general observation:

The largely negative attitude towards "raiders" on these forums is mind-boggling to me...A) because it exists, and B) because people find raiders to be acceptable targets.

Since when did running Coil preclude players from being social gamers and active within their own FCs? The only arguably antisocial behavior that I've personally observed or practiced myself is choosing not to spend time carrying players who want to skip all intervening content and jump straight to getting end-game clears without actually needing to learn how to do it (I'd say that's what run selling is for), which is very different from helping self-motivated, active learners, of which I don't currently know very many who aren't now in my static or in someone else's already.

This has to do with the very toxic environment SOME raiders have set up in the early days (uproar because allagan weapons were only i90 like relic, uproar because i90 gear was available for "scrubs" not doing coil, etc etc...)

Then, every now and then, some people on either side (vitriolic non raiders or vitriolic raiders) throw some oil on the fire and the rage starts again.

Want examples ? Look at the thread I made about coil story mode. You can clearly see bad behaviors on either side or the stick.

The biggest issue is with the elitest raiders that think they are above everyone else and call those that have a harder time casuals and what not. Just look at the thread about someone wanting more 24 man raids verses the 8 man raids that there are. Someone tried to call me a casual with no evidence that even play casually (which I don't). I don't mind raiders, I just hate the ones that think they are gods among men.

While it is all speculation at this point. Regular raids could be raid finder equivalent easy gear farms readying people for savage. However, If the hardest content is un-gated it would be bad for the game.

It won't be a negative to well organized, progressing statics. However, it will to the other 95% of statics who struggle with top content, or even ones that hit a small snag that would be otherwise overcome eventually with better gear and more practice.

You'll see more "I beat this with my other group so easily, why are you all so bad"
and "This isn't worth my time, my friends group will get me my armor piece"

Your basically removing the cognitive dissonance created from picking a group and sticking with your decision.

It could also destroy entire more casual FCs. Some people will leave FCs for ones gearing members more effectively for example.

But this all assumes that there will be any challenge with regular mode raids. They could be duty finder easier for all we know.

I'm pretty sure Normal mode will be challenging for a bit till we earn the raid level gear. It would be nice to see an extra mode in there like they have for the primals with Hard and Extreme, that would be pretty cool.

It's not that statics are inherently anti-social (Though many are, with members found through PF that only talk during specific times). Its that this...

...Is a thing, and its a problem for social group who can't divide themselves by 8. Now, if you have a FC of say, 13 people, you can all start running together, instead of telling 5 people to go find someone else, or making raids a race to see who hits the join party button first.

I don't see much hate aimed toward statics in here. Just aimed at people who want to keep their 8 man groups together, and damn everyone else.

As for the drops thing, I'd actually be ok with people getting their gear locked after one run, even if you didn't get anything, but still being able to run Alexander. I just want to be run with all my friends whenever their on, not the 7 fastest.
