As we know every newcomer will have to go trough atleast 2.0 - 2.55 story to get to Heavensward. Even now many newcomers (for example in my FC) complain that the game is too easy and dumb untill 50, if level 50 content becomes even easier than it already is I can see many newcomers leaving before getting to Heavensward.
Edit: Glad I was there when Titan Hard was a challenge and it was an actual achievement to clear it. Seems like in future it won't be even possible to fall down (maybe).
You have perfectly twisted what I meant with this thread.
I haven't said anything like that it should be hard as it was 2 years ago or that I wanted to gate newcomers from 3.0 untill they are "worthy".
Stripping 2.0 - 2.55 content from any challenge will maybe make it faster for newcomers to progress but it will give them nothing. No fun, no experience for further content.
Even now there are people (in Why I have no interest in Coils more specifically, T9. thread for example) who say that they didn't expect raid to be so hard after every content in the game was on highly different difficulty and they are right. Even now game doesn't prepare you for the end content at all (that explain why some people have problems with Steps of faith too) and dumbing the content down even more will only make the problem bigger in 3.0 (for newcomers).
Imagine that you are walking trough pink valley with rabbits and moogles from 1 to 50 and then come to Isghard and first dragon you meet slaps you to death. Yeah, I can see that happening now even when it is a few months in the future.
If I didn't care about new players and their experience of this game I wouldn't waste my time making this thread. I won't go into numbers because I don't want to lie but rougly half of people I tried to bring into FFXIV made it to endgame simply because the game was too easy for the other half. And it is hard to convince someone that later content will be more challenging when they don't see any increase in difficulty trough they whole leveling process and MSQ process.
Because that is exactly what everyone supporting this thread wants.![]()
