When I say "bait" I mean, you have your Steady Hand and Great Strides up, both with at least two turns left, and you have a Normal condition. You do NOT want to hit Byregot's (unless you have to), instead, you want to do something to fish for either a Good or an Excellent, at which point you want to hit Byregot's.

Usually, my finisher starts off with Steady Hand, then Great Strides, Innovation, Ingenuity 2, Byregot's. At any point after hitting Steady Hand if there is an Excellent, it is worth hitting Byregot's. If I get a Good right after hitting Steady Hand, I'll still Great Strides, but at any point after that, if its a Good, Byregot's. The reason is that a 50% increase from Good is not quite as good as a 100% increase from Great Strides. Innovation and Ingenuity both improve the amount that Byregot's gives, if I have to hit Byregot's on a Normal, but a Good right after the Great Strides is better than getting those two buffs up.
