Have BRD Macro say something only when singing a new song?

Hey everyone quick question. I wanted to make a Macro that I use when I sing various songs, such as "Refreshing MP! - Singing Mage's Ballad", so I have it basically as:
    /macroicon "Mage's Ballad"
    /say [Refreshing MP! - Singing Mage's Ballad"]
    /ac "Mage's Ballad"

The problem though is that I'm on PS4 so normally to remove it or stop singing I just cast it again. If I do that with this macro though it writes the Refreshing MP! message again. Is there any way with a Macro to have it only do it when I'm first singing or something? Or do I need to actually make a second macro just to remove it taking up another spot on the hotbar? Thanks!

To be honest you don't really need to have a macro saying when you're casting your songs, because people will know it's on. The only time there is going to be a waste of a song is in like raids for Foe, but it's not worth it to have an alliance macro saying Foe is up, in my opinion. I always see people with Swiftsong macros and such, and it'll lag so they'll have to press it again and it's a bit distracting as I look at party chat for important information that I can't decipher on my own.

I guess if you insist on having text for songs then you'd have to have it take up a separate hotbar spot with just the spell to disengage the song.

Thanks that makes sense, I don't need to keep it on it was more it didn't seem that anyone really noticed whenever I'd use it. There's been so many times (I'm just at the hard mode primals so not a high 50 yet) where both healers would be at like 25% MP and I'd sing it, or there'd be 2 BLM's so I'd use Foe, but never any commendations so wasn't sure if anyone really appreciated it at all. It's hard to see any benefit directly of doing it so thought I'd try the macro to make it more obvious. Is it something that Healer's are aware of and notice it being on more when it is? I just always have so many buffs on myself sometimes that I don't even know what half of them are since I'm on PS4 so hard to quickly check. I agree with it probably being annoying in party chat though so maybe will just put it back.

I have a macro with my songs, like ballad, also combo'd in with Battle Voice

Then I also have the non-combo'd songs on my crossbar. And even if people don't notice, it's not like you should be singing solely for comms anyway. It's your job as a bard. I don't have to say 'thanks' everytime I get healed.

The only macro I use on my BRD is one for Battle Voice, just so everyone knows that my song is boosted. Don't really need it though.
