I've been waiting and waiting for some sort of delivary/mailbox system even before the dev team changed XD

Personally I think Aion's mail system was pretty ideal.
Basically you could send mail to people's mailboxes with either text or an attached item. There was a cost involved in sending mail. A flat rate for simply text and an additional fee for sending items, the fee increased with the size/rarity of the item.
There was another option for the mail to be delivered directly to a player, with a huge fee on it. This was pretty useful for consumables if you had a friend who was in the city. Running out of arrows? Ask a friend to forward you a stack or two and pay them back later. This particular feature I'm neutral on though. It was pretty convenient but I'm not sure how they would work it in with FF lore. Basically in Aion a little delivery Shugo would pop up and hand you the item. I don't think you could have Moogles do it in FFXIV due to their much more rare nature. Maybe have a mail outpost at each camp, I dunno I just think it would be convenient.

Well we can't have a mail system....or a halfway decent search system...because of the classic "server side/coding issues" excuse...
How long have some of these people been working on this game for? and they still cant get things to work decently? When you cant get BASIC MMO functions to work...its a sad day.

The fact you're forgetting is that the staff working on the game changed about 8 months ago. Yes, it has been a while but they have been fixing bigger problems (like I dunno the entire battle system, craft system, transportation issues, SP rewards, etc...)Well we can't have a mail system....or a halfway decent search system...because of the classic "server side/coding issues" excuse...

I don't know how many people from the old team are left but the fewer that are the worse off the new team is. I've had some pretty fundamental instruction in programming and even at that basic level looking at someone else's code can be a nightmare if they don't mark everything properly. I'm going to take a stab and say that the old team didn't.
I imagine what they're going through right now is somewhat akin to attempting to untangle multiple sets of x-mas tree lights simultaneously while they're on and if a single bulb goes out you have to fix it before continuing and the entire time you have a crowd of angry people shouting at you to fix it faster.
Yes Yes! SE fired hundreds of people 8 months ago.... oh wait they dint. The fact you're forgetting is that the staff working on the game changed about 8 months ago. I never said fired. Yoshida and new team members were put on development, this makes things difficult. There was a restructuring of the development team, there's no way to know who (aside from Tanaka) was moved to other projects or was allowed to stay behind.

The only people who got replaced where the directors of some of the games aspects. Everybody else has been there from day 1. only a handfull of leads were changed : http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...574cb9c3991c9f
So the excuse of them saying they dont understand the coding or are having server issues has been a problem for basiclly 95% of the same people who have been on this game for years, is sad to say the least. How after 5+ years working on this new engine THEY BUILT and have been working with across multiple games you can not understand or fix it so simple things work with it baffles me.

I agree with Arcell.. No one really knows how hard a time they're having but the dev team their self... and while the battle system, craft system, transportation issues, SP rewards, etc... are all very important issues i believe the mail system is up there with them...

The German Community rep has indicated she is currently poking the devs about this very topic.
