    Idea for PVP incentives

    So, let's be honest here: PVP isn't that popular, and what few reasons people DO have for joining tends to invite folks who don't give it their all and are just doing it for the desynth gear or tomestones. So, I thought of a way to change up the incentives to encourage better play.

    First off, increase the number of tomestones you can earn. Yes, that's right. If anything, make PVP hands down the best way to farm them. But there's a catch: Tie them to how many points your team earns. If you win, congrats, you get ALL the tomestones. Get 290/300 points, and you still did pretty good! ...sit around all game and earn 100, and you'd earn less tomestones than you get even now.

    Second, to further discourage leechers, you need a set amount of participation. Kinda like trying to get gold on a FATE, the bar won't be set high, but you still have to actually, ya know, DO something.

    One thing I will add is that I wish to tie the tomestone rewards solely to POINTS, not to which place you get. Currently, if you're being trounced by both teams and obviously looking at third place, a lot of players will kinda give up. "We're obviously gonna lose, why bother?" And that's no fun. Tying to points means there's a difference between losing with 200 points, and losing with 250. And hey, who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and snag second with your second wind.

    Need incentive to bring players BACK to PVP as well, esp 72 Secure. i swear since day 2 of Slaughter I havent seen alot of names i had just gotten familiar with in Secure matches who were good teammates and vocal leaders. But perhaps the new gear will bring back those who only did it for the glamour. BTW they look great.

    Incentives for PvP?

    2-3 new Wolves' Den maps.
    Seasonal tournaments with seasonal ranks which are less of a grind.
    Seasonal rewards. Let them be just glamours or actual items, maybe titles and/or mounts.

    Unit collision. That one would turn PvP in less of a dps-fest than it is atm.
    Less PvE elements. Frontlines at the moment is a fight against static drones and nodes. You win by claiming AI kills in a ... PvP mode.
    Introduce a Fronline minimum item level that matches the level sync - I swear I do not ever want to see anyone in ilvl 21 GC gear again.

    That minimum contribution requirement is a very good idea. So I will steal it and add it to this daydreaming-/wishlist.

    These are actually great ideas!

    Base tomes on performance.
    Also, in frontline, to encourage healers and tanks, rewards could be adjusted by performance.

    Healers: obviously the more they heal/cure. There could also be a bonus if a certain amount of players within your team have 0 KOs (bonus only as there are bound to be suicidal pugers).

    Tanks: Based on enmity. The more hits they get, the more reward. Also a bonus the less KOs you got.

    As PvP is GC based PvP should also award company seals.

    One of the reasons I'm not suggesting things like new maps, yet more PVP gear, etc, is that there's a lot of stuff to farm in this game. So it's not surprising that a lot of players may be too busy running dungeons and such to bother with PVP. Another reason is to draw in folks who may not be that interested in PVP, both because they may like and, and because even if some folks are phoning it in, at least it helps PVP queues. And tying the rewards to success would encourage folks to give it their all regardless.

    I like PvP.

    Just not enough to play it as much.

    If you want me to get on PvP as much, you have to give me a big reason to go in there and get killed. I can farm tomes on expert roulette, no problem.

    I like progression. PvP doesn't really have that. You get points if you win/lose, spend points for PvP gears, and skill points. Bonus side items are glamors and mounts. I want to see something like a progression bar, not more RNG thanks. Something alike the relic weapon questline on your Novus to Nexus.

    Something like.... Grand Company standing in the Cartenou(Cartenaue?) Flats. Make GCs matter. Besides, it IS a war for the allagan ruins right? Make the top GC to have access to it or something.
