I don't know why I still try to play this. All the friends I made are gone, I can't begin to find anything fun or rewarding to want to do. I was hopeful that this would be on track a year later, but most of the aspects that made my blood pressure noticeably rise are still a part of this game to this day. Now they're making chocobos and materia systems before they tackle this lousy UI and the horrible time consuming shopping in addition to making gear repairs incredibly frustrating. Their priorities seem lodged in a rut trying to please people for a small bit of time while the dinner on the table goes cold dealing with restrictions on game play to make sure I'm not having too much fun.

this is why I play lightly, until 1.9 comes out anyway, put the game down for a little and play other things, come back once you hear 1.9 or 1.20 (or what ever update excites you more) and try it out again, once the game is gold, tell your friends, get them to try it out again.

There have been alot of changes and are a ton otw. Shopping isnt nearly as bad as it used to be and neither is the UI and there is more things to do around the world than previously with more coming in the next few patches. The game was broken when it came out, but it is being fixed and the new devs are doing a great job for what they were given. Just be a little patient. I know I walked away from it about a month after beta and returned just a couple months ago to what seemed a whole new world. On our server there are plenty of ppl to go out adventuring with too, you just need to put yourself out there. Check out the server boards and see if there are any ls recruiting on your server and just be patient. The devs are working hard to give us a game worth playing. Sticking it out seems like it is starting to be worth it.

I'm on the same boat. I want to do storylines. Side quests. Anything but grinding sp.

Just take a break until 1.19 or a later patch. It's no good to burn yourself out on a game you're not enjoying.
