Making it personal would be pointless imo. People would still ask for your numbers and if you aren't giving them, they would smite you.

It'd allow folks with poor DPS to actually see they're doing poor DPS, and would (hopefully) encourage them to seek information/assistance to see how to fix it.
Only if there's no option to turn it off (else they'll just turn it off because the hate the very idea of parsers), and only if they're somewhere informed of what baseline they should be hitting (because the numbers are meaningless in a vacuum).
Without seeing other people's DPS then there's no context if your numbers are good or bad though. So someone that isn't informed will continue thinking they are doing well when they are not.
Anyway, if they add in something like this it needs to be all or nothing.
Parsing is fine. No matter what you're going to have people that want to act as though they are better than others regardless of parsing. Also stating that the only people that advocate it are ones playing FotM classes is a bit silly considering they don't rebalance classes very often nor do they change the gearing often enough enough for anything to be considered "FotM". Also wide use of parsing can show not just when a class is overshadowing others, but when and potentially where other classes are suffering. The various class buffs didn't happen out of nowhere. There was large pools of data to show that these classes were falling behind. That wasn't just SE reviewing everything under a magnifying glass. Terms of Service aside they do look at what people are saying and they do see parses that players have made to display inadequacies which helps to further prompt their internal testing of various class/comp/fight mechanic combinations.Parsers are one of the worst things to happen to MMOs, it's pointless because some classes will always do better in turret style fights, long fights, short fights or mobile fights. So it really doesn't help anyone. The only people who advocate parsers are people who play FotM dps classes who are strong over all or broken in fights.
Parsing is just a tool. What people do with it is all up to the player. For as many people that chastise others you will have ones that use it solely for their own reference or attempt to help others out. Then you also have the people that don't want to accept any advise and want to continue being ineffective at their role. Parsing is already here and there's already so many that use it for whatever purpose they see fit. SE just needs to roll with it because it's not going away.

Player
It is easy to find what dps numbers you should be putting out on certain raids with your ilvl. I just think it will help players improve, personally I just want to know how I am doing then I ask my fc members for advice on my dpsing.
If you go outside the game, sure. But people who go outside the game for advice aren't really the target here, no?
