[Proposal] New Player Help User Interface

I like your ideas a lot. I do believe they are trying to get these kinds of in-game tutorials in somehow, from a dev post or producer letter that I've seen.

I'm hoping people try this game again eventually, and I'd like more people i know to try it out, so these tutorials will be a godsend.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope enough people see this post and realize one of the major issues that's holding back newer players from playing is not the lack of content (which is gradually improving these last 2 patches and especially this one coming up) but rather in the game's inability to show an upcoming gamer how to play in the first place.

And you're right, there are plans to put in some work to help accommodate new players with some help windows, but I hope it isn't just some patchwork job where they only copy and pasted a wall of text.

Felt the same, i tried to let my friend creates new character on my ID since he wanted to try the game, he was amazed up until character creation and beginning CS, then it went downhill starts from the first instanced Gobbue fight at Uldah..

*tries clicks on mobs*
*tries press enters*
"So.. how do i attack?"
"?????????"

Like I said before, if people can't get past the beginning after the cutscene and the occasional run through their starting town, there's no point to introduce content they'll never reach. To be honest I really don't mind if they hold back jobs and other things if it means they'll look more into hooking newer players.

Edit: I remember there being tutorial leves that you can select from the leve counter. They should make a sidequest or something where they direct new players to get these quests. They're helpful but the fact that I doubt many people know about them nor are aware of the fact that there are tutorials for these in the first place that this function is hardly utilized.
