[QUOTE=Obysuca;2897511]Because they're hoping it'll change for the better and not be a stale bag of chips, which is what XIV already is, after over a year of the same content every single update.
Also fun fact, you don't need to be paying to post on the forums, so don't assume everyone who posts is paying.

I know but you have to pay in order to long in to do the weekly and then log back out , which is what the poster said. Everyone has different playing styles. Some people are not bored, still have a lot to do, and enjoy the social aspect. I understand wanted to see different things added to the game. Everyone does. People can complain about being bored and not interested. I just don't understand why pay for something you don't like/bored with. No one forces them to pay every month.

And yes right. Its not FFXI..... looking at the Expansion and its content its WoW
Yeah except Heavensward gives us more playable classes than five wow expansions.

And more playable races than all FFXI expansions so far.

We get a new frontline area with new rules, additions to the loot system, the duty finder, the crafting and the gathering, we get flying mounts, we get several new ways to costumize our FC house, we get the opportunity to go on expeditions to otherwise unreachable areas with the fc airship.

And this is just 3.0. The patch content will bring even more stuff.

I'm not sure what more you want.

a FFXI campaign system could be amazing in the new expansion , players vs dragonkin i enjoyed it a lot , traveling to every other zone and fight invasions was enjoyable , add bosses that were hard , it was a zergfest? yes but still fun! and the server worked to keep zones safe and whatnot

Obviously there is more for them to tell us. This was only the first info dump we really got on the expansion. Clearly we don't know everything yet. It would be silly to think we did.

Not to mention they have only told us 7 or the 9 new areas. So they are leaving some stuff out...maybe Sharlayan and Ala'mhigo? Which could easily be translated into some big scale type thing for this expansion. We just don't know yet. Not to mention they have mentioned nothing on besides the fact there will be 8 new dungeons (not raids). And they also hinted that Bismark would be a unique battle (he is freakin' huge and flies...might be some hints there).

What I feel is going to make this expansion stand out from the 2.0 is the challenges which they are going to throw at us. I feel that they are really going to mix it up, mechanic-wise; which honestly is all this expansion needs to do.

I was thinking the same thing. The expansion seems lackluster so far. Just new jobs, new primals, new dungeons, and new zones, and a level cap raise. Okay, I can use flying mounts in Ishgard. I don't consider that new type of playable content. It's simply a new form of travel. The same applies to building FC airships. I'm hoping for some reveal also. Something like Gold Saucer that does not require combat, or if it does require combat, then a new type of combat such as battling pets or something. And so far there has not been any jobs that are unique enough to be interested in. An example of a unique or interesting job would be somehting like a Blue Mage where you learn your skills from enemies.

It's practically the same as the updates we already get, except bigger. It seems like it will still be the same ol' same ol'. I'm still getting it, but I feel like I'll be bored quick. How are they going to do the new legendary weapons? More fates, dungeons, mobs, and leves until you vomit?

The expansion just does not have any enticing reason to play that content unless you play for the story, which I'm not. Normally I love FF stories, but this game overdoes it on how much dialogue there is to read, plus lack of interesting content, that it bores me spending 20 minutes reading a story part, then over 30 waiting on a queue to pop with no solo content to do while you wait. The only enticing content that has ever been released for this game is the Gold Saucer and Triple Triad. In an example of enticing, Maplestory has these cards you collect from mobs in each area. Once you get them all in a specific area, it gives you some kind of permanent stat boost. There is nothing repetitive about it as instead of doing the same thing over and over to reach your goal, you are always doing something different. Collecting them is fun as the drop rate is just right as they don't force an insane grind that is beyond reason. You can also choose one to equip for said stat boost.

Let's be fair here. Each WoW class has three distinct ways to play, each of which plays practically nothing like the other. FFXIV is giving us three new classes with only one way to play each class. If you want to get into it, Death Knight and Monk could each be considered three classes, as they had three unique specializations and ways to play.

I'm not saying FFXIV's way is bad, but I am saying that you get a lot more content per class on WoW than you do here.

There's a big problem with doing server-level events like this.
    PEOPLE WILL JUST ZERG IT.
