I was thinking the same thing. The expansion seems lackluster so far. Just new jobs, new primals, new dungeons, and new zones, and a level cap raise. Okay, I can use flying mounts in Ishgard. I don't consider that new type of playable content. It's simply a new form of travel. The same applies to building FC airships. I'm hoping for some reveal also. Something like Gold Saucer that does not require combat, or if it does require combat, then a new type of combat such as battling pets or something. And so far there has not been any jobs that are unique enough to be interested in. An example of a unique or interesting job would be somehting like a Blue Mage where you learn your skills from enemies.

It's practically the same as the updates we already get, except bigger. It seems like it will still be the same ol' same ol'. I'm still getting it, but I feel like I'll be bored quick. How are they going to do the new legendary weapons? More fates, dungeons, mobs, and leves until you vomit?

The expansion just does not have any enticing reason to play that content unless you play for the story, which I'm not. Normally I love FF stories, but this game overdoes it on how much dialogue there is to read, plus lack of interesting content, that it bores me spending 20 minutes reading a story part, then over 30 waiting on a queue to pop with no solo content to do while you wait. The only enticing content that has ever been released for this game is the Gold Saucer and Triple Triad. In an example of enticing, Maplestory has these cards you collect from mobs in each area. Once you get them all in a specific area, it gives you some kind of permanent stat boost. There is nothing repetitive about it as instead of doing the same thing over and over to reach your goal, you are always doing something different. Collecting them is fun as the drop rate is just right as they don't force an insane grind that is beyond reason. You can also choose one to equip for said stat boost.

I'm not saying FFXIV's way is bad, but I am saying that you get a lot more content per class on WoW than you do here.
Not to mention far less abilities

There's a big problem with doing server-level events like this.

Not if the mechanics were such that a 'zerg' is impossible. If something can be zerged, it's the fault of the developer, not the players, as it's down to them to design a fight which is more than just a big monster with a lot of HP.

FFXI has lasted for over 10 years because there was always something more to be done. It had oodles of content, a wide variety of skills per player and new and interesting ways to play each class which didn't involve being rooted to DPS, Heal, or Tank. Do tell me why being a little more like FFXI would be a bad thing?

OP - Nope, you're not the only one! I am hoping they announce some new systems and stuff, not just 2.0 with dragons ; ; We need something like Besieged, Salvage, etc...something besides the same dungeons, tomes and end game raids.

Besieged might be covered by the new "Large scale" Fates. I'm expecting them to be a combination of the Odin/Behemoth FATEs and the Attack on Highbridge/The Hive FATE chains.

Outside of the term itself and the fact that they were listed separately on the same slide as High-level Levequests, High-level FATEs, New field enemies and New elite marks, I only have supposition.

That would be interesting! The only issue that may have is that those FATE's can turn into zerg fests...often requiring little to no strategy. ; ; Maybe they are going to change things up though to alleviate that.
