FFXIV is not a game you watch on Twitch. I guess GTA V is less successful than Heroes of the Storm because it has less viewers on Twitch, Archeage and The Last of Us are also on same viewers - must mean they are also on the same level of popularity, RuneScape right now has more viewers than WoW, so obviously RuneScape is more successful, perfectly sound logic. Using Twitch viewers as a metric of a games popularity is so dumb. Last we heard MCVUK reported XIV has 500k active subs, at the tail-end of an expansion where people are dropping off as they wait for Heavensward, that makes it one of the biggest if not the biggest subscription MMO except WoW.

I didn't get hyped at all after the info or the trailer so yeah.... something (undefined) is missing for me too.

they do have that in ffxiv. its called fates.... also this aint ffxi 2. its a different game.Am I the only one who thinks Heavenward is missing some big reveal?
It feels like 2.0 all over again only with Dragons.
Don't get me wrong. I'm excited to continue the Story and try the new Jobs and Areas.
But coming from FFXI I miss some big world Battle Content like Besieged or Campaign where every Player on the Server work together for a common Goal. Something that makes this Expansion special and not some Big Patch with new Dungeons, new Tomestones and new Primalfights (aka Dragonlords)

The Attack on Highbridge (East Than) and Breaching/Clearing/Defending/Keeping the Hive (South Shroud) FATE chains determine the availability of a Merchant who sells a minion depending on whether or not the FATEs were completed. The Poor Maid's (Upper LN) FATE chain was supposed to be another, but it broke.
If these types of FATEs are what they mean by "Large-scale FATEs," then that may be what you are looking for.

Yeah my hope lie with the Large Scale FATE. But I don't think they will give the great big Systems of Besieged and Capaign justice. The Attack on Highbridge (East Than) and Breaching/Clearing/Defending/Keeping the Hive (South Shroud) FATE chains determine the availability of a Merchant who sells a minion depending on whether or not the FATEs were completed. But only time will tell.

Yeah except Heavensward gives us more playable classes than five wow expansions.
And more playable races than all FFXI expansions so far.
We get a new frontline area with new rules, additions to the loot system, the duty finder, the crafting and the gathering, we get flying mounts, we get several new ways to costumize our FC house, we get the opportunity to go on expeditions to otherwise unreachable areas with the fc airship.
And this is just 3.0. The patch content will bring even more stuff.
I'm not sure what more you want.
Let's be fair here. Each WoW class has three distinct ways to play, each of which plays practically nothing like the other. FFXIV is giving us three new classes with only one way to play each class. If you want to get into it, Death Knight and Monk could each be considered three classes, as they had three unique specializations and ways to play.
I'm not saying FFXIV's way is bad, but I am saying that you get a lot more content per class on WoW than you do here.
