The adjustments will probably keep coming until your average DF group is able to clear raid/EX content.

Funny that the OP want to keep the difficulty level still there. There are always adjustment when Dev. Group introduce new content/level cap. If they leave it as it is, it wouldn't matter the new level cap because any overgear player /old player will be able to do all the new content without problem. I'm a new player, and in the beginning was hard enough to find parties because I was DPS(I couldnt be consider a healer until I became scholar). I even sometimes got trouble getting people from my first FC to join me because they already were running current content, and it was a pain for them to help so they just ignored my request to do MANDATORY dungeons. Even when I got 50, there was some dungeons/contents before I never did because the MSQ doesn't ask you but later you need it. There is too much content as it is. Why would anyone want the new players to stay behind so we don't compete with those old players that want to go thru first?
Actually, it sounds like new players will have the option to make content more challenging than many a current player has experienced. For 3.0:
"..You can also choose to sync to the minimum item level for a real challenge. If you want to complete a piece of content with the highest difficulty level possible in order to remember fondly how it was when you first encountered it, that will be possible. You will be able to do the same thing for the Binding Coil of Bahamut. Newer players can also experience what it was like and say, "how could people have beaten this?!".."
I'm going to be loving this feature.
Sadly reducing your ilvl isn't going to bring back butchered mechanics, RIP T7.Actually, it sounds like new players will have the option to make content more challenging than many a current player has experienced. For 3.0:

While I understand that getting into Ishgard will be top priority for new characters in 3.0, the idea of Titan not throwing you down the hole gave me shivers.
Incase you forgot:
Now kneel overdweller, your lord commands
There's no salvation for the sons of man
The skies will tremble and the earth will quake
From the crumbling walls no one escapes
Nerf story Titan only. Keep HM and EX as is. HM is still technically optional content.
Player
It's part of the MS quest that you need go through. all the contents are fine as they are. I can only think of hardcore players that want to go through hard/insane level (is this a PC game single player or a mmo?) I would agree to increase the difficulty level if they get rid off a lot of the content the game has. For you to say it's optional, I can only conclude that you already finished all the MS and some the game content that you forgot.
Titan mechanics is not hard, the only problem I could think it's the aoe. In my case, if I see myself and some other friends, that I party while helping in titan HM, see me out of the aoe yet I get hit by it, but I don't die because of it. I heard some FC members and friends saying that it's a problem only titan and a couple other dungeons has. I have to agree with them, but it's not reason enough to nerf it.
If anything these changes sort of answer the concerns some may have with having to complete 2.0-2.55 in order to enter Ishgard.
Since to an extent sounds like they are:
-Offering ability to remove level cap
-Enter dungeon with less people
-Roulettes with unique parameters
That the idea is to play more how you like rather than restrictions.
You want to feel how it was like to face Coil at lv cap? You can
You want to just pwn Coil and beat it for story? You can
That's the nice beauty of it, they are offering options for players, a friend starts to play but it's hard to get people to help with certain dungeons?
No worries I"ll take my lv 60 Ninja and run you through the dungeon so you can continue through the story.
The way I see these changes it comes off more as a "play as you want" more than dumbing down content, if I'm not mistaken one of the comments Yoshida made was how you could do Coil at il cap and players could be like "how did people possibly beat this!" and honestly I"m looking forward to that, a play as you want mentality for lower level content that offers both a serious and casual aspect of gameplay for both sides to enjoy.
Development team already have the right thing going here. They should take it further with this formula.
3 modes of the Primal fight; Normal, Hard, Extreme
Normal = Story
Hard = Stat Loots
Extreme = Stat Loots and Vanity/Title Rewards
3 modes for Main Raid; Normal, Hard, Savage
Normal = Story
Hard = Story and Stat Loots
Savage = Story, Stat Loots, and Vanity/Title Rewards
What their problem is in consistency, Primals are great examples. The label for difficulty jumps all over the place, end game normal mode becomes "hard mode", some of them have loots, some don't. They should just eliminate/modifiy a bunch of mechanics like what they have for titan/ifrit/garuda normal mode and let them be over with asap via story, then make the hard modes optional, but actually hard. and make the extreme modes extreme.
The whole echo thing is literally a patch the development team did to an existing wall since they made the hard stuff mandatory.
The Easy Normal Hard formula has been a traditional device since the early days of video game, the reason it still lives today is because it works. Hopefully the devs realize this and make the contents consistent in the future.
