    If they just started then they need to have a negative crysta balance in order to play. As soon as the game goes pay to play, if you haven't cancelled the account, you will be automatically billed for 1 month's worth of crysta.

    Edit: If they just signed up and registered their square enix accounts in order to play ffxiv, then they will have this issue.**
