I'd say devs should get the bugs out of the game (or what the community considers bugs) and we can afterwards compare this game to others. 'Cause then (in like 2 years at this rate :S) there will be completely different games out there.
And yes the community is... well I wouldn't call it bad... more like angry. Lots of the mad users just don't want or can't keep it on a professional level. If you can't log in or your game crashes every time you're halfway in a leve you get angry and want to complain. That's human nature.
I really don't mind that kind of user. Imho the real problem is the guys that blandish the issues those people have or even make fun of them. I consider them spam and love it when mods remove their posts. But sometimes the mods go way too far and delete whole threads (not only marked as deleted but also completely removed sometimes). Don't like that... this ain't China
tl;dr
- complaints about game okay
- complaining about complaints not okay and a waste of everyone's time

i'm just sad that a lot of FFXIV's uniqueness is being shafted and shuffled aside to please those people who don't want a new game but an older one with just updating graphics.
What's sad is that you keep trolling with this same line. Just because people don't want X feature from your ideal example of a "modern MMO" doesn't mean they are stuck in the past.
I should have added you to my ignore list long ago, oh well easy enough to fix I guess.

I played XI for 8 years, the only other MMOs i've played have been DAoC and RO. I like grind parties too (that's ALL RO was) , I haven't even commented on any topic regarding linking or grind parties. The linking system sounds good as well. After it's implemented we'll see what tweeks needed there. After all, would be silly if say something links from well out of eye-sight no? The only place I'm really complaining at all about the system changes going to be made are in the Rank / gear topic and the MRD auto-attack / damage boost topic. I think you may have me confused with someone else Murugan. If not then I apologize if you took any of my posts there offensively but I was trying to put my passion for the subject to words and feeling to text does not always translate well.
I confused you with Chain lynks (I think?) the person from Gyshal with your identical signature. I apologize for the confusion, that person constantly harps on those topics with the insults to FFXI players.I played XI for 8 years, the only other MMOs i've played have been DAoC and RO. Funny thing is so many people complain about this forums community and the people complaining are as much a part of the problem as anyone else is.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

Personally I love the community. All of them. The trolls. The thread tag vandals. The reminiscers. The "wtf I hate the new changes I'm quitting" ragers. The "it's sad SE is removing everything unique from this game" lamers. You all are a great bunch of people and I feel like a better person for knowing you all. By comparison.
Grouphug!
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
Up until now I've thought of the Forum community as slightly rude. Then i took a step back and realized that most of the threads weren't all that bad. I don't think that the forum is populated by angry jerks, Just that most of us have a bad day and get slightly confrontational.
To all the people who have a bad view of the forums. If you take a step back and rethink your view on the forum community, does it look more inviting?
Is this a troll post, nice community, please, most threads here are regurgitated trash, QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ going on for a millenia.. yeah great community.

Don't be so bitter. Look past the topic names; go to a few posts that actually provide constructive comments and feedback and those friendly users who don't lash at at the silliest things. Look at those with the patience to deal with trolls, white-knights or whatever derogatory terms the community has brought up with those members who are in disagreement. Underneath the pile of s*it heaped up on top, we have a few flowers growing underneath. It's what makes these forums a bit more bearable.
I admit; I've done my share of raging at people, and sometimes I regret it. But when people deliberately insult me for no reason save because I disagreed with them or they took my words in twisted in into something else, I'll get mad and insult them with vigour and sophistication worthy of a politician. So it's impossible to stop the rages of flames that can go on in such a large community. But overall, I don't find it a displeasure to lurk around the forums and provide my opinions at times.
It's true that the game community is much fairer and polite, but we can't shaft the forum community away because of it. We have the game's equivalent of a blacklist; we can use it. Sooner or later, those members who repeatedly dog the threads and boards will find themselves ignored, getting raged at in an appropriate manner, and potentially give up altogether. For now, lets enjoy what it has to offer us.
