Items still not storable in Armoire.

In the recent patch you made previous event items storable, yet there are still items that have yet to be added to the storage feature of the Armoire.

The Goblin Cap, Fat Chocobo Head, King Slime Crown, Sable Death Mask, Friendship Circlet, Ahriman Choker (And all subsequent contest prizes), Strife Armor, The Wedding Sets, Peach Blossom Choker, Slime Earrings, Dodo Earrings, and the Moogle Attire.

Another thing that needs to be looked into is the storage of Augmented Artifact Armor. The Artifact armor could be treated as the spiritbinding process is treated; the color on the armor is reset whenever it's stored in the Armoire and picked up again.

I'd also like to make a push to recommend us being able to store the Gear we've been able to obtain via Odin's Mantles and Behemoth horns. I think this should also extend to armor and weapon skins purchased from the Gold Saucer.

I'd also further like to request the ability to drop/discard veteran reward items. I while back I thought the Goblin Cap/Minion veteran reward of mine was never sent, come to find out that I needed to delete a few pieces of previous mail in order for it to show up in my mail box. But by then I had already requested a GM to resend the reward to all my characters; and now I have two Goblin Caps and two minions on each character that was available during the time I requested them to re-send the reward with no way to drop/discard the extras I have.

What they really need to do is add that "Item log" they mentioned a long time ago.

    It should function like this:

    1. Consume item to add it to the "Item log"
    2. Said item is now available for glamours.

No. The idea of a glamour log has been suggested by myself and many others, there was even a thread sometime back where someone post the idea in different languages which gather quite a bit of support, sadly I can no longer find the thread to re-link it. Please show your support here if you support the idea of a glamour log.

I believe that having a glamour log can help out with the inventory space constraint issue to a certain degree, but I must disagree with anyone who suggest the item to be consumed in order to add/unlock it to the glamour log. In fact, I think anyone who suggested this ought to deserve getting tied to a wooden log, burn to crisp with multiple flares, then fed to Behemoth.

Let me put it this way, let say if I got a weapon drop from t13, but I'm not too fond of it's looks, and would rather glamour my zodiac relic (or any stage) over it. Do you seriously think it's a good idea to consume the zodiac relic and re-do a whole new relic again? Or another case, let say after 300 rounds of fighting with RNJesus, I finally got a tank chest piece from WoD, which I prefer to equip on my WAR and glamour on my PLD, if the chest piece is to be consume upon adding/unlocking to the glamour log, do you honestly expect me to have another 300 rounds duel with RNJesus
to get another piece of tank chest again?

Bottom line is, just bind the item which the player choose to add/unlock to the glamour log to prevent reselling of tradeable items like the existing system already does. There's no good reason for the item to be consumed except to save the players 5 seconds from discarding the item manually, which I think is a good trade for the trouble otherwise.

I just think though, that a lot of these items are LONG way over due to be added to the armoire. Especially the King Slime Crown, the earrings, and the contest prizes/veteran rewards. There is no reason why these should not be allowed in the armoire. :\ And also the Sable Death Mask; which is a side quest reward. The Star Spangled Subligar which is also a side quest reward is allowed in there.

Then there is the contest and veteran rewards. They should be able to be placed in the armoire given that we get a new veteran reward every 90 days and contests happen every time there is a seasonal event.

Technically, what you're argueing for isn't that different from the example I provided. Items would still be available for glamour as they are now, so in effect, it's the same thing.

I think what he means to say is it's something that he and a few others suggested a while back; not something that was mentioned by developers.

Yes and no. Yes, we both agree that having a glamour log is beneficial, but no, I disagree with the implementation method you suggested.

There's a huge difference between binding and consuming an item upon registration to the glamour log. Binding an item only turn any tradeable item to untradeable, elsewhere consuming an item will vanish the item upon registration, like how a HP pot will vanish from your inventory after you consume it.

If what you were trying to say was the same as mine (binding), then I apologies for the misunderstanding but greatly urge you to edit your post as the word "consume" in this case is really misleading.

I read a developer post some time back, it had more to do with server memory space constraint. As of now, the server is writing every 15 secs to update the items status, which I presume is to prevent any potential rollback issue. Depending on how they setup the servers and code the system, it's possible that to keep the 15 secs update speed, just increasing server space wouldn't be sufficient, in worst case it might be possible that they have to replace all existing servers with new and faster hardware.

I agree and respect the fact that they admit and communicate about the issue with us players, and will try my best to wait for a working solution to roll out, but in the end this shouldn't be something the players should worry about and our patience isn't without limits. One way or another, they will have to dealt with this issue eventually especially when more items are rolling out when 3.0 hits. As players, the best we can do to help is to offer intelligent suggestion which may contribute to the final solution, and the glamour log is something some of us came up with.

I just had a weird technical thought. The reason we can't save a ton of data on our character is due to server memory space. They can't massively increase our bags or give us a huge checklist of all of the armor in the game we can glamour from. That would be too much data for the server world to handle.

but we interact with different servers all of the time. Duty finder servers, character creation servers, login servers. Now I don't know how all of this works, but I always assumed that when you used the aesthetician, you can't communicate with friends because you are moved to the character creation server. So... what if they created a "glamour server"? It would be a separate server with data matching our characters or account, and while there we can convert items into glamour records and apply any glamours we have acquired to our gear. Just like the character creation server remembers which hair styles and face arts we have unlocked. Since it is on a separate server from our home worlds, the type of data there would be different limited to JUST glamours, so everything else like achievements and quest progress wouldn't be cluttering up the data limits.

I'm probably horribly wrong about how any of that works though. Just a random thought.

    +1

DC Universe has a similiar feature. You get a new style, you equip add it to your list of "styles", then you can freely use it without the need for the item itself.

I've got no idea how the game is structured behind the scenes, but I would have thought a "glamour library" would place less of a demand on server/memory resources than tracking individual items - instead of tracking the whereabouts of every individual item, it'd just be a big list of items available for glamour with a binary yes/know. Which presumably is part of the reason that armoireing an item removes spiritbond and dyes - it ceases to be an actual item and just becomes an entry in a data list.

Agree that DCUO was the best for cosmetics, and if we're on the subject of stealing ideas from other games, can we steal Rift's wardrobe slot system, where you can equip items to wardrobe sets that are completely independent of the gear you actually have equipped but override the appearance of whatever's equipped in that slot, so you can change gear at will without having to re-glamour everything.
