Housing on Balmung

So now that I'm to the point where I can afford and desire housing (for my FC and/or for myself) I have come to learn that money may not be the real issue but in fact... space limitations are my problem?

Is it true that there is no plots of land left for me to live or make a house for my FC? Is there any word on when this might change? This is really upsetting. I don't suppose players can sell land plots to other players? Maybe I can buy one off of someone...

Look around on the Balmung forum and then post on PF to see if anyones selling.
There has been no word that I know of that we will be getting anymore houses for a while.
This has been a problem for months. Trust me, I've been wanting a house since the release of P. Housing.
Caught word houses were gone in about 30 mins since the update and I was asleep.

Apparently Yoshi-P himself said that they have no plans for the immediate future to add anymore plots to housing, since they feel they have satisfied demand for the time being.

They only said they weren't adding in heavensward areas, but did say they were planning on expanding the existing wards as well as "prettying them up" or something.
They're characteristically vague and non-committal because they don't have the details ironed out.
In short they're "working on it" and you should "look forward to it."

That said, people on balmung complaining about problems due to overpopulation sounds like people in New York complaining about the same thing >_>

Yeah that attitude is going to change in a heartbeat. And the conversation about expanding existing wards came from something AFTER, maybe a later live letter or a fan fest thing, that when a question was asked about adding new housing in HW.

It's because there is space....on other servers. It's a completely crap situation.

All housing wards on Balmung are currently at capacity; there are no free lots. You may convince someone to relinquish a small lot for around 40 or 50m. Note that you will then need gil on hand to buy the lot and further gil to actually construct the house.

SE's official position has been that they will focus on adding features to housing for existing owners rather than allowing more participants into the system.

The new FC crafting for airships requires an FC house to be done in. On servers such as Balmung, there's likely a few FC's that can't have plots and will be cut out of this aspect of the game, so maybe they will in fact add new wards to compensate.

Starting with the launch of Heavensward, we are introducing a new system where you can do Free Company crafting, where you are crafting as a group. With that, if you have Free Company housing, you can set up a basement workshop where you can get together with your Free Company to make things. The two biggest elements that are going to be introduced for Free Company crafting is going to be building your own airship, and you can build your own house. Like the external look of it.
