Will Ishgard bring New Housing Zones?

I kind of doubt they would at Heavensword's launch, but do you think they'll make new housing zones in Ishgard? I am still saving up for a personal house (despite them being super expensive and no more plots available) so I'd like to have something (housing-wise) to look forward to...honestly, right now it almost feels like I'm saving up for nothing

Q23: In the expansion we will be going to Ishgard, but will you be implementing housing areas in Ishgard as well?

A23: The war between humans and dragons is still being fought in Ishgard and it’s not really a safe place to live, so we will not be implementing housing areas at the beginning of the expansion. While we may implement it at some point in the 3.0 series, we aren’t at the point where we can promise any kind of time frame.

More housing might be added into existing zones, but I don't think that's known.

I think even if they plan on implementing houses down the road for Ishgard, they'll have to implement a lot of the basic infrastructural features related to housing before doing so to avoid antagonizing the massive amount of players who already have the houses..

If it's new, everybody will flock to it, and if people who already have houses can't buy the new houses or upgrade to them, they will not be very happy


They'll either have to lift the 1 per character limit on housing, not likely since they already have issues with limited availability.

Or they'll have to implement a vast array of features that include at the bare minimum, trading houses between players and a solution around breakable furnishing. Loooong before the Ishgardian houses are implemented so people have their chance to sell and prepare for the Ishgardian houses.

Before these things are done, I don't think SE can implement housing districts in Ishgard without a lot of pissed off people.

So the people who were able to afford houses and got houses before everyone else, will be mad at the people who were forced to wait and save because of either gil issues or space issues, will be mad? Please allow me to host the biggest pity party.

I'm not saying they should be punished because they were able to afford a house first and were faster at the buy button, but don't punish those who couldnt afford and were FORCED to wait by continuing to limit housing. I'd be fine if there was maybe a house tradein system, where you may not get ALL the money you spent on the property back, but at least half of it back. (After all, you did own the property for a time) or something.

They BETTER not lift the 1 house per character limit! People will buy all the damn houses and then SELL them to players for a bigger profit...I can see it now. Not everyone has 500 million gil to blow! And yeah, with limited availability, that'd be so much BS.

The solution for breaking furniture I will fully support, however. Like, if they pick up the item, it cannot be traded (I'm totally cool with)

I seriously HATE the way they did the housing system. For PERSONAL houses to be the SAMN PRICE as FC houses is ABSOLUTE BS! Especially since they said they wouldn't do that! I stand by my opinion that FC houses should remain pretty neighborhoods for people to visit, with the option of people who can afford them to buy them, and for them to implement instanced single houses (The WHOLE house, not ONE room) for people who can't afford 40 MILLION for a dang house (Sorry, 20 million for a decent sized house, 14 million for a small). To this DAY Wildstar will have the BEST mmo housing system in any mmo I've played. (and I've played a lot)

I love the way housing has been implemented. Instanced housing like an Inn Room or Personal Room just isn't the same. I like the idea of neighborhoods and being able to meet other players in that way. It makes it really special. On the other hand they certainly need to add a lot more housing wards because lots of people want housing and can't buy it. That shouldn't be the case.

That's why I'm saying leave the neighborhoods. They are pretty cool. It's nice to see other people's houses. But Instanced houses would be nice for personal houses.

I have a personal small house and I don't want it as instanced. I want it to be the same as what you appear to be proposing for only FC housing. Increase server space and provide more housing or perhaps have a mixture of the two with one version cheaper than the other.
