It's actually much cooler than I thought! Pictures definitely don't do the place justice. I wish I could go someday!

You wanna know what's even more sad? I went to Tokyo twice in the past 2 years and completely forgot those exist ^ ^;;; I was just dazzled by everything else too much

yeahhh same. My SO and I really want to visit, we just have no idea what we'll eat, especially since even a lot of veggie dishes (such as soups) there have bonito in them. I feel like we'd be surviving off of Famima rice balls and edamame.
There are some good guides out there for vegetarian options, especially in Tokyo, but they all seem really expensive.
I wish that tourist friendly places like this would at least offer one or two veggie dishes. I feel like it's just a healthy option, even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan! Give us a Sylph Sandwich or something, plz.
What's disappointing for me is that it seems like the option for vegetarian dishes is rarely there to begin with, in Japan. You have Pork, Beef, and Chicken in a country that cannot even farm those animals, yet vegetable options are difficult to find. It's crazy, because I've had some amazing vegetarian Japanese food here in the US, it just doesn't seem like vegetarianism is very culturally acknowledged there, so restaurants rarely cater to vegetarians to begin with.Asking them alter their entrée is like asking them to redo their artwork because you don’t think its good. It is also insulting to not eat all the food given to you on your plate, it represents that you hate their food. And you should never order more than what you can eat, if you leave leftovers it is considered wasteful and selfish.
I guess I could just eat the seaweed from someone else's titan burger dish.

They do farm their animals. Pork is the most popular choice because pigs don’t take up as much space, same with chicken. Fish is popular and don’t require land, lol. Beef you will pay a premium for but all beef is Kobe Beef so that makes up for it (not much space for them to roam). Everything is always in moderation and portioned properly. Its not consumed on an American level where you can order a 22ounce steak at a restaurant..
You will have an easier time in Japan if your are a Pescetarian. But I have to say, Japan would be a nightmare for Vegans.
If you should ever visit Japan, definably opt for renting a portable wifi device and use your smart phone or tablet to search local cuisine near by. It saved my group from spending hours trying to find a place that had vegetarian dish for our friend to eat. And one of the best Udon bowls I had came from a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant that could only fit 12 people, and we would have never gone there without Googles help at 8pm at night.
There’s also a bunch of other places to eat in Akihabara (lots of theme cafes), so you could just eat some where else and then dine on the FFXIV drinks.
On the bright side when I went to the Square Cafe, they did have extra entrees in the menu that were not listed on the website. So there could be a chance there is a veggie dish that is unlisted or one added in the future ^_^
I've already begun saving up to go to Japan next year, can't wait to check out this new cafe!
They have a few veggie things at the cafe, like this cute guy:
And La Noscean toast, and dessert stuff:
There was a vegetable quiche as well. And honey toast. And a veggie appetizer thingy (like just raw vegetables, kind of thing).
And drinks of courseDefinitely enough there to have a snack and some drinks as a vegetarian, and the place is pretty cool. Only annoying thing is the complicated "getting in" process (have to show up early in the morning, wait in line to get random number to wait in another line to sign up for a slot).

It's amazing how much detail they put into it.

The live letter just now announced they'll be releasing the recipes used for their food.
To me, this means the cafe is probably closing down soon, which is par the course for theme cafes in Japan, but still sad to think about.
