Is there any way to filter-ignore some threads in the forum listing?

Hi, dear people... Not wanting to be unrespectful at all with anyone, but, for me it's starting to get... Well, a bit... bit, annoying to always see at least one or two "Eorzeas new top model" stuff related topics for each page of general discussion I want to check...

I know, I know!.... And that's exactly what I do, I'm not saying anything is wrong about it at all, just that it kind of annoys me because messes a little all my search tasks... So I politely ask, is there an option to avoid listing messages in whole forums? (Such as General Discussion)

I want it so it automatically discards me those related with that stuff. I tried already to select the user and put it in ignore list so it would not, in theory, display any thread started by it?... But it stills doing so...

Is there something I missing?

PS: Again, not my idea to offend anyone or underappreciate the efforts of the others, just that it kind of annoys me the fact I have seen that around 12% of the forum posts I have checked this year has that title or is something related with it, there are just too many.

PS2: Sorry for being too noob and not notice yet if there's a function to allow me doing that... Ignore an user doesn't work already. So I'm lost, without ideas of how to deal with it.

I'm all for having some sort of filter for threads you don't want to see.

Such as Collector's edition and preorder threads, and the casting call / eorzea's next top model threads...

Forgot about those too, not interested anymore in preorder threads and etc because I already preordered so no information needed in the matter.... It'd be nice if we'd have the option to kind of remove certain tags from the listing... Or that the ignore function would actually work for threads started by that person and not only messages (Already tested, it only 'covers' messages of someone as if it'd be a spoiler you can see or not)

I'm with you on those threads, but sadly I don't think there is any way to take them off from the list. Let's just take a deep breath and skim through, eventually they'll come to an end, hopefully.

Hmmm, I'm more inclined to not see the billion and one threads pertaining to housing or RMT whining than the Top Model threads. Those I don't mind.

I don't mind the top model threads in particular either but this would still be a good option to have.

It was just an example, those are the threads I would filter.
I would also include those RMT and housing threads as well.

Off topic: It would be PPS: Post-post script and if you had to post script again it'd be PPPS, and so on so forth...

On topic: While there is no way of filtering out threads you can always subscribe to a thread by clicking the "Thread Tools" on the top right corner of the original post and then click the subscribe button. From there you can always just go to your profile on the forums > subscribed threads and you will only see threads you subscribed to. However you would still have to check the general discussion once in a while to see new threads you haven't subscribed to, but its kind of a work around. Hope that helps.

It certainly wouldnt hurt to have a filter , I would give anything not to see anything related to lolpvp in GD...and would love to see many many more on housing..... however thats why I go to the housing subforum.

Mind you most of the topics you mentioned dont have a subforum other then general discussion, their place is indeed in general discussion more so then anything else that already has a subforum in existance for.

Defintely wouldnt hurt though, more forum options could only be a good thing, I would make use of it as well ^^
