    Would you PvP more if...

Would you PvP more if they made it easier to que with your friends by bypassing the Grand Company restriction?

The PvP community is a very small minority. It could use a lot more attention from SE, but its priority seems to be reeaallly low. A temporary solution I would recommend, would be the equivalent of the echo buff to raids.

Include a check box (like join in progress) that will let you join ANY grand company in front lines if there is a shortage. What do you guys think?

For the record, it doesn't get attention because it's small.
Yes, that's a catch 22, but that's just what happens in games that don't make PVP the focus.

Yup, I'm aware that a huge majority sub with no expectations of PvP. But a simple fix like this would make a WORLD of difference for those that do.

Personally, I would pvp more if they overhauled the entire combat system and make them faster paced and dynamic. It's just missing that oomph to make combat interesting.

But yeah, if they got rid of the GC limitations, it will naturally draw more people in and more people pvp'ing will also draw more people in to join them.. It's not a catch 22, it'll actually be a source of positive feedback and increase the pvp crowd.. By how much? I can't tell, not too many people in this game seem to be interested in PvP at all anyhow..

I don't mind PVP, but I have no reason to do it really.

The main number one thing that makes me not really like it is there are too many extra abilities. Not like WoW where you basically just go in with your normal job abilities and have ONE extra PVP one (trinket to get out of CC's).

Just too lazy to learn to use all these extra abilities that I don't have in PvE.

I would PVP more if I didn't have to que for 30 minutes to an hour just to get into one game.

Remove GC restriction, simple as that. Let people que up and as soon as X amount are qued, get them into a match, instead of saying oh but we have to wait for x amount from the GC, x amount from this GC, and X amount from this GC before we then get a game going.

The whole GC idea was dumb in the first place.

There is a large learning curve. When Wolves Den 1st came out I know it put off ALOT of people.

    1. The classes/jobs were really imbalanced
    2. Morale advantage was HUGE!

Imagine a new player wanting to try PvP for the first time, and matching up with hi rank premade parties. This is what happened to me. I kept getting destroyed because of the learning curve and there was really no guidance in game on the abilities. It was so broken I stopped and didnt bother with it til frontline came out.

Now, the core balance is where it needs to be. SE dropped the ball multiple times, but from their continuous mistakes with PvP I think it can be just as challenging/rewarding as the end game raids given another chancw. And if all the parties that raid start getting involved, wouldnt it be fun to fight other of the best parties to see who has the best skill?

Remove the grand company lock. Sync the stats. Remove the PvP abilities and make the PvP item reward system glamour based. And for the love of God keep it to 8 or 10. At the most 16 players. This is not a PvP game and the gameplay setup does not support intense combat well. So it should be more of a sidebar undertaking. Perhaps a pvevp type of map.

The only way I see them getting around that would be to give the option to make everyone temporary members of the party/raid leader's FC. Storywise it could be something like the leader brings in mercenaries to bolster the ranks, so if your party leader is a member of the Maelstrom, then non-Maelstrom people are counted as sellswords/mercenaries sided with the Maelstrom for that game.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

I probably would if I didn't have so much stuff to do in the game right now as it is.
