Why is the PS4 digital CE of Heavenward not available?

Why is every other version of the game except the digital collectors edition for PS4 listed on the EU Square Enix store? Is is not possible to order this version and get the early access code? My friend doesn't care about the physical items but wants the in game items and early access how can he make sure he doesn't miss out.

I think they announced that it'll be available on the PSN store before.
But that's Sony's thing/deal/whateveryouwannacallit, unfortunately.

I have heard somewhere that Sony charges the developers some monthly fee for having stuff available for purchase in the PSN Store.

Assuming that is true, might as well be that Square Enix is being cheap and doesnt want to pay 2-3 months worth of Sony's fees before Heavensward releases.

I too find it very weird that PS4 Digital CE is not available and all the devs response we get is that "it will be available somewhere in the future".

Oh it's not just PS4 users.. If you purchased ARR on steam, you have no way of pre-ordering yet either... But yeah.. Just keep an eye out on the PSN store for a while? ^^;

$299 in aus for the physical collectors sold out.. seriously for a crappy statue and a book with pictures thats worth nothing once you use the codes for the real goodies … tell me is SE really afraid of making more money off digital ce copys for the ps4 … why the hell do they constantly drag there feet on this shit when ppl are wanting to throw the tools money!!! set up ps4 digital ce downloads for eu also set it up for aus and nz and sit back like good little game companies and rub your hands together!! job done!!

It's been said repeatedly, a couple times in this thread alone, that it's not Square holding back a PS4 release but Sony. Once Sony figures out what's holding them back we'll have a PSN release. Square can't strongarm them into acting, either, as PSN isn't owned by Square. It will be out when it's out, we just have to wait.

I never said anything about square holding the preorder back. I said has there been an update and if not can we can an update from the community reps. Also the people responding in this thread (thanks for your input) haven't provided concrete information they are going on speculation by saying things like " I think" and "I heard". It's almost a month til early access starts I don't want to just wait til it's out and miss out on opportunities afforded to other people.
