why are we assuming that untradable gear can not be turned into materia or modified with materia. I

Most NM gear is not tradeable.. lol

I doubt they mean crafted NM gear.

yeah I guess that is correct I have been 50 since pre low rank NMs so i tend not to take the low rank gear into consideration. Though at this point it is still speculation I'm still leaning more toward all nontradeable gear will be excluded from the materia system. I hope I'm wrong.

NM gears are Rare/Ex just as are the dungeons gears. Imo they won't make 2 categories for thoses gears but rather they will balance the gears obtained in events such as dungeons and NM so that all Rare/Ex gears are competitive to crafted gears with materia.

I already requested more info on that and will post when I get a more specific answer but my guess is that any Rare/Ex (U/U) gear won't be able to be enhanced with materia and all crafted gears including crafted gears from NM drops will be able to receive materia.

In that translation I see no mention of dungeon or raid gear, only NM gear. It's also possible that a community rep can post something that can easily be taken the wrong way (look at the latest 3 posts from Bayohne in the required rank on gear thread).

If all U/U gear will not be able to be enhanced why would they even say

they could be refering to damaged gear, who knows at this point which is why I created this thread to begin with

Yes I know, that is why I requested more info. Either way is possible I guess, I'll wait for more information on it.

Oh, I see what Has everyone mixed up. It says that others can apply materia fo you as long as it's tradable. That's cause they have to have it in their inv. Or you can do it yourself.
