So with the new Materia system coming up and the speculation that untradeable gear will not be able to be turned into Materia or will not be able to be imbued with Materia will dungeon gear and other untradeable gear become obsolete?
Now I didnt play a lot of FFXI but correct me if im wrong, I dont remember there being many untradeable items. I know the MMO standard now a days is the bound equipment, but I like to think that FFXIV can think outside the box and do away with such a system.
removing the untradeable tag could have many benefits ill just name a few.
- Allows said items to be used in the Materia system.
- Allows for trading of said items opening a market for them.
- provides a solution to mistakenly obtaining an item from the loot list on dungeon/NM runs.
- allows access to items for casual players that do not have time to obtain them through other channels.
Now I know some folks will not like the ability for players to buy said items and feel like obtaining them makes them feel exclusive to the general public. I say who cares, the dungeons are easy right now and folks will still feel exclusive for the first few months before they start selling items, if they sell them. Hell being able to turn them into Materia will lower the sell rate and the items would still feel exclusive.
I dont want my dungeon loot to be come obsolete because of the Materia system....do you?
This is all of course if the speculation is correct and untradeable items will not be allowed to benefit from the Materia system.
