Public duel system would definitely be awesome. It may also help spread/encourage some additional PvP hype. Maybe help the noobs get comfortable before getting involved with Frontlines or whatever. Definitely a worthwhile pass-time imo.
Eh. I could see this turning into a $%@# show pretty quick tbh. You are going to get the most hardcore group to basically live in that area and dominate everyone. The people who aren't in the group will either switch GC or not show up at all.Work on making special zones which aren't timed instances and are shared across data centers please. That would fix PvP in a heartbeat.
Rather than being an instance which required 8 from each Grand Company, Frontlines could instead be open world with 3 matches every hour; 15 minute matches with a 5 minute break in between. Then just have (currently) four versions of the zone; 24 Secure, 72 Secure, 24 Slaughter, 72 Slaughter. Though I'd much rather drop 72, I preferred 48 honestly, less lag more tactics. Have multiple instances of those zones (similar to Housing Wards) and we're done. It is open world, so that removes any queue issues
Why do we even have Grand Companies? (serious question, not a troll). What purpose do they really serve? Sure, you get some fancy armor/weapons to glamour but there could be infinitely other ways of handling that. Making them craftable and still tied to the lore would be one. They could be recipe books purchased directly from the second-in-command to Raubahn, Merlwyb, Kan-E... Just saying that it doesn't seem like GCs really have much of a place in Eorzea.
Lore aside, you could consider it another layer of grind, in lack of better words. Gathering credit for 3 different fractions to get vanity; people would and will max that out. Any content to the game is meant to make the gamer keep playing the game for as long as possible (without being ridiculous). Not saying it's good or bad here, just informative observations. In the case of GC, it could be anything. It's by design.
Now to stay on topic. For those who insist on keeping PvP GC restricted, imagine what that would do to ANY other Duty content. Yeah, need I even say more.

Anyway if this has been pointed out on the last 3 pages then disregard my comment/opinion.
The only real way to revive Wolves is if they remove class lock and make a 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 like Wow (Yes, I said it.). Class locking PvP is the most annoying and incomprehensible thing implemented, I really dont see any point in this for PvP.
Another is PvP content is too dry, before anyone say go play something else this game is for PvErs, I would like to cut them off right now by saying that this is a modern MMO which should cater to both spectrum like any modern MMORPGs. We dont live in the in an MMO age that an MMO only excel in one aspect. In other words give us more Maps!! SE is a big company, and im sure each department has only a certain budget, but when the FFXIV department make 3-4 PvE dungeon maps and only give us Jump pads for PvP that is just not classy at all, it's almost as if Im being slapped in the face for it.
A suggestion would be give us a new map with diferent game play, these dang ADS and drones are just ughh. we need like capture the flag (WoW - Warsong Gulch), or castle siege (Tera Onine - Corsair Stronghold). Yea I know im not naming anything new or innovative, but give us something aside drones and jump pads!

Another is the 2 second Global skill cooldown, they need to reduce this to 1 second, I swear kill anyone is like pulling a hair, this is the only game i know that PvP isn't fast paced, maybe there are worst out there but man 2 seconds is like playing a never ending go-fish by plucking the same card over and over.
In Summary (TL;DR):
Remove Class Lock in Arena
Make 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5
Give us fresh PvP Map and not adding jump pads and calling it a day - give us at least 3 per expansion (not asking a lot, PvE got almost 15+ish new dungeons from patch 2.1-2.55).
Reduce GCD to 1 Second
