How I understand it, on the FF XI airships you don't see the real world but a cutscene like thing moving under the airships like the landscapes moving on car drives in the old black-white movies.

It could vary well be Skadi , The only diff is that they in my oppinion synced it up with the areas of actual map with the crags and such. and Yes people already made mention of the tree or specialization of a job but the same concept is there.

IMO some people confuse Final Fantasy Lore and Final Fantasy XI lore and if a FFXIV tries to do something that is different from FFXI then pple jump on it and say it's not FF style... Each FF is different, just as FFVII and FFVI couldn't be more different. FF characters in the series have been shown to ride other animals then Chocobos, just like the video on Kuja riding a dragon in FF IX.

That being said, SE has already CONFIRMED that mounts will not be limited to Chocobos and dragons have been present in the FF series very often so they make very much sense as mounts, especially for dragoons.

It isn't a bad idea, just question how it would be executed. You could ride a dragon in Final Fantasy V and the music was catchy. This game doesn't look like the type of game to have flying mounts.

Get a green chocobo that has black chocobo's flying low ability + put on some dragon like beak looking equipment with some kick ass shiny armor and you got yourself a cool ass looking chocobo that looks like a dragon and can fly

How can they suck? There's not a million things you can do with a mount u know... u get on it, u travel and u get off it. That's all there is to it so i don't see how they can make it suck. Plus SE said we can give them armor so that there is already better mounts then other mmos.

That's not a bad idea Rein LOL and Pyrix I agree i dont want the implentation of chocobos to suck I still have faith that yoshi and the rest of the team will do their best not to ^^

I agree Like having them be able to fight along side you.. your own personal chocobo.. maybe healing abilities like IN FFT
