How can you prove that it's not a legitimate disconnect? If they aren't flat out telling you that they're going to force d/c, there's no way they could enforce a rule like that.Agreed; it seems like it should be against the ToS to just d/c and not use the leave option. That's what it's there for. Had a party member type \dc in party chat once after first trash mob in ST, then nothing happened, and then a couple of seconds later they disconnected. People that do that sort of thing should have their account suspended, especially if there's repeated instances of intentional d/c's.
I've had someone ragequit with a boss at 10% and healer LB3 ALMOST up and after he ragequit we LOST OUR LIMIT BREAK COMPLETELY... Yeah we were all very angry.
A design flaw if ever there was one. Why should people be able to take lb out the door with them? And that extra limit break could make all the difference for a team having to 3-man a dungeon.
Updated OP to address a particular situation.
<--- The perfect rage-quitter --->
Lord Ragequitter: "Oh, seems we are not going to finish this."
Another player: "Full of noobs?"
Lord Ragequitter: "No, not that, I'd say that... It's just we have not very good team coordination, neither luck, neither knowledge of the situation and strategy... It's not someone's fault, nor everyone's fault but... We are clearly not prepared for it, can we abandon?"
Player 3: "No, we still going"
Player 4: "Eat the 30 min debuff if you want so"
Lord Ragequitter: "It's okay, then, I'll make my leave and eat with pride those thirty minutes while I craft and get some tea... I wish you all the luck you could and that you find a better replacement than me, or, those wanting to remake and find a more compatible team take advantage of this chance to not get the penalty. Best wishes!"

Well, I have seen a less exaggerated version of that once... But I was the one who ragequitted, so.... D:.... (And yes, crafting time)

hahahaa this is great! XDDD
Lord Ragequitter could only exist in some fairytale...maybe not even in that
(Also people should remember if a person is raging he/she is not gonna think about about etiquette or anything polite or nice in that moment...they are boiling with rrrrrrage for some reason (they might even be right!)....so you should thank that this is a game and they can't go through your screen and eat your face!)
Some people are saying it's wrong to hold others hostage if they don't want to be there. If they are quitting for legitimate reasons (party is going nowhere) they shouldn't be. But that's not who this topic is addressing. It is addressing those that rage after a single wipe and refuse to take their penalty for doing so. This is ESPECIALLY common with tanks and we ALL know how hard it is to get a tank. A tank quitting, no matter the reason, almost always means the whole party is going to fall apart. There are so many instances and so few tanks. There are EVEN less tanks that ever join in progress because they don't ever need to outside of ST and WoD. So for those 2-4 DPS you are abandoning, you only get a 30 min penalty (or none of they kick you) while they will HIGHLY likely have to jump back into a new queue, 30m + on its own. Once they get a tank, they rather rough it out then have to queue again. And if tanks had the freedom to leave however they wanted with no penalty, no one would get past the content the roulette were literally made for.
