Booting for the dumbest reasons.

Well ive run into a few players who i've reported who boot me from things like Labrynth of the Acients, Which uses 6 Tank slots because i Qued up on MRD over WAR.

My reasoning is i can output a lot more damage, and have a lot more utility as a MRD then as a WAR. There is absolutely no reason in Lab of the Ancients where you "Need" all 6 tanks. at the most, you use one tank per party per fight, (Atomos, and the Dullahan come to mind) most of the time you use just 1 Tank for everything, even the Trash mobs these days people just pull everything and super tank it all.

even had the most recent people call it "Harrasment" for Queing as a MRD. I'm sorry but i don't personally believe it fell under that, and there is no option for "I don't like their job" on the kick list.

My question is, am i being unreasonable? For queing on a job that the game itself allows me to Que on to increase my usefulness?

Does it matter in the scheme of things? Not really. Probably not. I know that I would have just rolled my eyes at it and played through.

The utility argument doesn't work. What sort of utility could you possibly be covering that the two healers and four dps aren't covering?

You're better off either being a damage sponge (with defiance on - towers / pulling adds back on atamos / tanking the adds off of the group attacking thanatos), or a wrecking machine with defiance off.

Well, MRD doesn't necessarily do more DPS than a war (my MRD will NOT do more DPS than my WAR, for example). Yes, even counting Raging and BfB. The stats on the soulstone add a good amount of base damage which MRD doesn't get, and if you have a properly statted relic there's another advantage to staying war.

Ultimately, it depends on your attitude. If you're snapping at people wondering why you're on MRD, then you will deserve to be kicked. If you're saying you can do more DPS as mrd and get out dpsed by a pld...while they really don't have much of a ground to kick you, you are likely costing the party more by being just...bad. And if your tank went down or was new and you couldn't tank propely...yeah, that could be seen as harassment

The thing with that is as a MRD i have access to more DPS Abilities, And i can use things such as Goad, Mantra, etc. do other jobs bring it? Yeah, definately, but again, it's labrynth of the ancients, I can Tank these things without Defiance on, and still push out the numbers. I don't have a Relic for my WAR with DPS augments, i use High allagan, so my WAR cannot out damage my MRD.

as far as attitude goes, i dont have one, i simply tell them i prefer to run this dungeon on my MRD over WAR because i dont see the point in 6 Tanks. one Tank per PT is all that's needed. (also why SE went with 1 Tank 5 DPS for the remaining two tower dungeons) And they proceed to berate me to no end.

I Que as WAR on WoD and Syrcus, because yes, im the only tank, so im going to do my job, but on Labrynth, i just see 0 point.

Since we aren't allowed to use a dps meter, and please don't say here if you do or not, this is tough thing to prove, but I'm thinking you're wrong about that. Why not use the high allagan weapon on your WAR if you want to just dps? The point that PArcher is making is that, apples to apples, same gear, the WAR is probably doing more damage.

Also, if you're tanking without defiance, I don't care how good your gear is, any halfway decent dps will rip threat from you in seconds. WAR gives you the option to swap between dps and tank just by turning defiance on and off.

I tanked Bone Dragon for the 2nd and 3rd iterations before I finally died to Chaos Breath as a MRD. There's really no reason to boot someone for that. Now if you were using unsavory language, that's a different matter.

Besides, you can just pop right back into queue as a tank.

yeah i don't go into Sailor mode for these people, Not worth it. Why give them fuel to add to the fire, i simply inform them i look forward to reporting their abuse of the kick system, and continue to do what i need to do. and see what happens.

And yeah...i figured you did give people attitude. I've seen, many times, people on classes in Lota (not just tanks, but heals and dps) and besides asking why, no one cared (unless they were just *bad*). Funny thing too, half the time it wouldn't be noticed til atomos when people try to figure out who is on platform duty...

they never even gave me a chance to be good or bad >..> They booted me before the first boss. And they harrased me in Chat the whole time, which i copy pasted for the GM i spoke with anyways, that's beside the point. My point is, why kick someone for having more fun with the game? Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean you should kick them, I did my job. I wasnt the main tank, that was Mr Hot shot PLD who said "Im tanking everything"
