    So with heavensward...

    Lets say current high ilvl gear is useful for leveling in heavensward, how would the dungeons work. Are they going to be to where people with lower ilvl can have a chance to complete it? if thats the case than high ilvl people will outgear it, which is wierd for lvling. If its ilvl synced, than the current high ilvl gear isnt really all that useful.

    Im kind of new an my ilvl is only 83 atm. Therefore, idk what the average ilvl people will be once they complete 2.55

    You need to be a minimum of 90 to complete 2.55, but getting at least ilvl 100 for your main job is very easy to achieve.

    but isnt 90/100 a big difference compared to 130? So for the new dungeons if they are around ilvl 100, then 130 would outgear the dungeons. if the dungeons were closer to 130, then the 100 ilvl gear people couldn't play in it. Unless the main scenerio gave gear to raise the players ilvl, which would render the 130 gear as "not as useful". I mean yes it will be useful, but the people who have obtained that gear wouldn't have much of a benifit compared to the people who hadnt worked as hard for tht gear. Which to me doesnt matter, but it appears it does to others.

    Keep in mind that the level cap will be 60 when Heavensward comes out. Job level will probably be more important than ilvl for those dungeons.

    I don't remember how it felt leveling to 50, but in other MMO's, you actually get weaker as you level up due to scaling. That X ammount of Dex/Str becomes worth less and less. So level 50's in ilvl 130, will do more damage than lvl 52's.

    I was wondering about this as well since I think most of our secondary stats work on a sort of ratio (that is to say that at level 15 if we had 350 crit that would probably be a 100% crit rate, but as you level up each single point of a secondary stat becomes less useful by itself). It would seem that keeping the same 130 gear actually will make us 'weaker' as we level up (though our STR/ DEX/ INT/ MND will increase to probably more than compensate).

    For the dungeons and equipment, I think it will mostly come down to how they handle the level cap increase. If simply having Heavensward linked to your account changes the level cap to 60 then I'd think new players likely won't even step foot into Ishgard before level ~55 due to all the leveling that will just happen from CM onward. At that point they could buy cheap vendor/ MB gear that would likely be as good as or better than poetics or at least soldiery gear (and they'd have some tomes/gear from required content like CM/ Praetorium/ Leviathan/ Ramuh/ Snowcloak/ Shiva/ Keeper of the Lake). If the level cap increases from a quest that's not accessible until you complete 2.55 then it's probably going to feel like a disjointed and rough climb through the main scenario and probably a couple of optional 50 dungeons for new players. On the other hand if new players hit level 51 inside Praetorium or something then it will probably be a breeze, though we don't know how level sync will impact level 50 content.

    The minimum requirement for the last story fight is iLvl 90.

    If they do not change this, nobody should be lower than this.

    You need i90 to access Heavensward due to it being a requirement for the Steps of Faith trial, though the majority of players will be i130. I imagine to some extent this may trivialise the early dungeons for better geared players, but then that's really nothing new for most of us as every dungeon released since 2.0 launched has been balanced for 20-30 iLvls below the current cap... Having said that the Steps of Faith was actually very over-tuned for its i90 requirement so SE may be rethinking how they balance content.

    Most MMOs offer under-geared players a means of rapidly catching up through the early quest rewards in the expansion. What form that might take here though, and at what level the current i130 gear becomes obsolete remains to be seen.

    Basically, what my main point is than is that if players want an advantage for having a high ilvl entering heavensward, than their advantage is outgearing the first couple of dungeons. So it seems.

    And I feel thats how it should be. For me, if 130 gear was instantly obsoleteIit wouldnt matter. cuz im not gonna reach that ilvl. I just have read posts about people seem to want to benifit about carrying that gear and it made me wonder.
