1. If you had 5 minutes to go AFK on the ship, you had 5 minutes to go AFK anywhere. If your mind needs an excuse to be able to peel yourself off of the game...In XI I liked that if you left a little earlier than the rest of your party for Kazhaam, you had a good 5 mins to take a break. No airship was over 10 mins long in XI, if I remember they were all closer to 5. Boat rides were longer like aht ughan boat ride is 15 mins, but you had that little break to set up crap, grab some food, do whatever. If time is a concern for you, you will be using anima, they said chocobos and airships are really just for to alleviate anima stress, casual/short time players will use anima and its an instant. Why complain?
2. Airship ride + waiting for it was easily ~15 mins wait
3. Anima as it is now goes too fast, maybe at some point it won't be so precious but until then...
4. Traveling between towns is needed so much because of guilds, leves, guildmark hunting, etc.

your pony is fight? well my horse is amazing so bring it on!!!
who doesn't want insta-travel lol
super-short airship ride!!!?? So you are happy that instead of shouting "2k for tele to uld" you now get to pay 2k to an npc to tele to another city @_@ only difference is a cutscene you will get bored of after 2482 airship rides.
I was so excited to be able to see the beautiful world of ffxiv from a birdseye view!! That would be AMAZING! And not to mention random airship enemy encounters!!!! lol
I'm just gonna hope that they really do make it longer in the future, I guess what they're doing now is just a quick-fix (i can only hope) to help calm the crowd

That's funny.. I didn't see anyone say they wanted it to be 10 minutes.hope Yoshida has better sense than to listen to the kind of loonies who want travel between towns to come with a 10 minutes wait. This game is troubled enough without wasting people's time.
IMO they will keep instatravel as an option for people who only want to get to the other town.
And I don't believe "not instant" = "10 minutes" either.
The power of exaggeration is strong with this one. :x

There is nothing more awesome than standing on an airship, doing nothing for some period of time. In fact, I am going to look for this type of time sink in all MMO's I play and rage if its not present. I love it when developers waste my life.
In all seriousness, they could just make an option
1. instant airship cost more than non instant airship
For those of us who don't want to wait, pay the 1st class fee. I would pay it, EVERYTIME!
