I remember doing Trial Roulette one day after a patch, getting Garuda HM, and thinking "Hmm why are these people all playing like total a-holes?" when they pulled her straight through the center before a protect cast could go off and I was the only one who bothered to LOS her first Mistral Shriek behind a stone pillar. Then one of my FC people told me about the whole light farming thing and I'm like Ohhhhh- so THAT's why people are playing like total a-holes!

You call them a-holes, but it's really nothing personal.
Due to the nature of light farming, speedrunning short fights with a zombie-like mindset is just the de facto way of doing it.

Sorry, I prob was < clear on that one. I wasn't saying the players themselves were a-holes, what I meant is that it first seemed that way based upon their play style- but once I understood it in the context of the light farm grind people were having to do, it made sense. Basically the system was forcing people into a playstyle that was different than what I was unaccustomed to (pull before Protect cast for example) and it wasn't about the people so much.
