Amdapor Keep Hard first boss

Is this guy bugged or is there some mechanic I'm not aware of? The last couple times I've run it, both this week, he hasn't telegraphed his beam with the big red light over the target. Party members confirmed that it wasn't showing up for them either.

In the two runs, 5 tries (3 wipes), the red light showed up once, out of a total of 15-20 of the times the attack was used.

It's an easy marker to overlook. I tunnel vision that boss a lot and see it at the last possible second. It could be you guys are forcing phases so fast that it skips the icon. don't know it's been along time since i've done that fight, people are catching up in Ilvl now, so it could be a possibility.

The first run I was Blm and I would have bought the phase pushing, but it clearly did not show up. On him I'm staring at my character, and there was no red, just the sudden bolt zapping me, 3 times total.

The 2nd run I was on WAR with a 110 weapon, MNK had about 5k HP, SCH and SMN both had well under 5k HP. I doubt we were phase pushing because we were far from overgeared.

yup, been getting this as my daily for 10 days now. Marker shows up fine.

I had one run where everyone was dying on him. Marker was not showing. Just seemed to be that one run tho.

For some reason, I can see the marker on others but when I get targeted, I don't see it.

That is exactly what happens to me pretty much every time, all the time.
At first I thought I must have just missed it so I started watching very closely for it and as others have reported, the beam will start zapping with no marker displaying.
At this point I watch more for him raising his sword and prepare myself to run just in case.

I have found this to be the case up until I turned my name/title display off. Apparently the marker likes to hide behind nameplates.
