Know your Roegadyn. Telling from Sea wolves from Hellsgaurd

Hellsgaurd(Or Lohengarde) Roegadyn have an "Ash Puppy Nose". There is some speculation that this marking can be removed as there are some NPCs without it (Curious George). Lohengarde hail from the Volcanoes of Abalathia's Spine Believing the mountains of flame to be gates to the underworld, their line has for centuries stood vigil over them to prevent the passage of souls back to the realm of the living. Their sheer girth and steely demeanor open to the Hellsguard a wide range of paths, from the martial to the monastic.

Hellsgaurd skintones are mainly Red hues.


Sea Wolf Roegadyn, do not have the Ash nose that the Lohengarde have. The Sea Wolves hail from the islands of the far north seas, where they subsist as fishermen and -women. Long ago, no vessel or coastal village was safe from their maritime brand of brutality. Now, it is not uncommon to see them employed as sailors or naval mercenaries on all manner of vessels.

Sea Wolf skintones are mainly Green hues.



Fun Notes:
Min Female Roegadyn is the same as Max Height Female Highlander.
Although Moenbryda is a Roegadyn she does not have the Reddish Skintone of a Hellsgard or the Green skintone of a Seawolf, hers is the same as a Miqo'te.

As a reminder (and this coming from the links), their naming conventions are not necessarily restricted to each clan.
It's not uncommon to see a Hellsguard with an "old language" name, just as it's not uncommon to see a Sea Wolf with a "translated" name.

as a side note, starting stats would imply that seawolves are more inclined to physical combat with a slight nod to healing magics, where as hellsguard are more inclined to magic in general, mostly towards healing.

Thanks for the info, OP, A lot of this I honestly didn't know, I'll admit my knowledge of Roegadyn conventions/lore is rather minute, since I've yet to get myself into their history or anything, so this was a nice read.I look forward to seeing what other info pops up in here

It's like some Indian type of thing they got on Hellsguard: SWIMMING PUPPY! WALKING BEAR! SLEEPY CAVE!

I do think it's an interesting take on splitting up the naming convention Galka had in FFXI, where they had their proper names like Zeid, Deidogg, Werei, etc. And then they had what basically amounted to their 'Slave Names' that Humes gave them because they found the names too hard to pronounce: Iron Eater, Invincible Shield, Lame Deer.

Though I like the Sea Wolf names a fair bit better than the 'old' Galka names, the Germanic influence works well.

Also, Femroes are pretty nice, I guess.
