I'll say it again something that look clean is always dirty. What i mean is i hope there more too LL then oh there just have issue with primal it be more fun if there some stuff going within also. It's both, actually.
Xenophobia is their refusal to assist foreigners unless their magical invisible tree friends say so. The main scenario quest goes into this in detail.
Racism is demonstrated in the Lancer and Archer guild quests -- respectively, the lack of trust offered to Duskwights, and the view of Moon Keepers as ignorant savages (and both quest stories have these prejudices coming back to bite them in the ass)
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Lominsa has no undercurrent of something shady going on. All shady business is conducted in the bright sunlight! What you see is what you get.
Gridania's less-savory elements are borne primarily of culturally ingrained hostility towards outsiders. Ul'dah, though...just, Ul'dah's got problems man.

I think they are not found of Duskwight because they are the closest descendants to the culture of Amdapor. That's if I'm remembering Amdapor lore correctly. I'm guessing they don't like keepers/seekers (I can't remember their correct name) of the moon is because iirc most of them tend to be poachers.
The biggest issue with Grid is that they have to get along with the Beastmen because they have TWO PRIMALS (Three if Odin decided to go on a rampage) that can be summoned at any given time if someone pisses off the Moogles or Slyphs. Grid also has to keep lesser problems like poachers and Garleans from provoking the beastmen causing a bigger issue. Out of all 3 city-states Grid is actually in the worse position of being destroyed.
Don't forget the Ixal and Garuda. Even if the Ixal summon Garuda in Coerthas, their target is the Black Shroud to take revenge on the Elementals. Even the Ishgardian say that the Ixal are a Gridania problem, not theirs. The biggest issue with Grid is that they have to get along with the Beastmen because they have TWO PRIMALS (Three if Odin decided to go on a rampage) that can be summoned at any given time if someone pisses off the Moogles or Slyphs. To clarify, for anyone that thinks there are werewolves in 14, you're thinking of Dragon Age. Specifically, the Dread Wolf that the Dalish (their version of elfs) respect/revere (debatedly) as a God.
The elementals themselves are problems. They only care about The Shroud and that alone. Without the mediation of the Padjal, we'd have one pissed off, racist forest trying to kill everyone. Unless the elementals somehow become more open to assisting the rest of Eorzea instead of caring about their own damn land only, Gridania is limited with what it can do.
And there's always Odin. I don't think a few kids can easily seal away a primal that's been resurrecting itself nonchalantly.
I think he means wildlings, who are made mindless when the elementals are angry with a person's woodsin. The greenwrath is the stuff of treants and is basically the elementals rousing the Shroud to kill stuff

Regardless of what he meant, he specifically mentioned thinking of werewolves and referencing Dragon Age :P. It exists in that game, not ours, and I wanted to make sure others didn't get confused. ^^
Its a bit of both, the calamity did indeed weaken them, but its also agitated them alot. Even weakened elementals can cause quite the damage.
I don't have a picture, but it's in the lore section. But in the lv 25(?) CNJ quest there would be an elemental in the background that will help you beat the quest monsters after a certain length as passed.Yes, the presence of the elementals in the 2.x story is weak. It was stronger during the 1.x story. In 2.0 they only showed up during one CNJ quest.

I hope they get a stronger presence in 3.x again, like they had during 1.x
But yeah....I hope the 3.0 WHM wont be about elementals wanting to destroy Gridania. In 1.0 that planned on doing that, in 2.0 they planned on doing it again. I hope it wont be the same in Heavensward
