Couldn't agree more and i always thought an AH would be the answer but hearing about how a market system is the same but without the biding part(which nobody uses anyways) I'm all for it. The numerous Market wards and item types it's just confusing and a waste of time.

I know SE was considering an AH but stopped talking about it completely. Now all they talk about is market wards stability but that was never an issue for me, there's so much more to fix with the wards yet they talk about stability and crashes....

That's nice! Would love to see one of your mockups for the markets and if you are comfortable enough with that, how about using a different design then what SE uses in-game? I find FFXIV's UI to be the ugliest there is out there....

Before I quit playing like a month after the CE release, the wards use to crash ALL THE TIME. You would constantly have to go and put your retainer up again, it was just ridiculous.

I wouldn't mind the Market Wards if:

1.) The UI was faster in responding
2.) The items were organized in a logical manner
3.) We could SORT item's by rank or class or something...
4.) Maybe a UI widget that shows what wards your searchable item is located in.. nothing like looking at an item going to the ward buying all that retainer has, then forgetting the other wards and having to do the search all over again.
5.) Search multiple items.... seriously, I usually want 2-5 items when I'm at the market wards, and they might be all located in one ward but I have to run back and forth and do a search each time to get a * above the retainers head.

    Then dont use the subtypes

Type > Armour > Footwear = Lists all footwear.

A tri selector like Mac folder viewer.

Yeah thats what I was saying... Footwear or Head piece or Body should list all of the 'sub-categories' SE has, period. You would think SE plays the game and would find this stuff just as annoying as we do.

To be honest with you, i doubt any of dev staff or community reps play this game. If they do, then they don't spend much time in it, maybe 1-2h a week or they play by different rules, maybe they cheat a little bit.

Because if they played like we did then no doubt would they have the same complains we do.

Then again maybe it comes down to them having a biased opinion about the game and it's mechanics.... You know like when you cook something, you almost always think it tastes great even tho' everyone else tells you it's the most horrible thing they ate in their life.

Most likely developers have the vision of programmers, because when i look at it in a programming perspective it makes sense to have multiple windows and order things categorically and such and it may even be structure like that to reduce the amount of queries to the database so it could even be a server flaw, who knows.

I think the current team will get to it because comparing a lot of stuff to what they add to now, like items had different repair materials, before was exp and sp, now team is like 5 repair mats based on lv, and only exp. Wouldnt surprise me if they went and simplified the listings so that all body pieces were listed together and they stop splitting up chain and cloth gear. Even now I get confused XD

I think that SE should mandate every FFXIV staff to play at least a certain amount of Hours every week. Like this they would get a better idea of what we have to go through and how the final product performs. Maybe it all sounds good on paper or when your programing it but in practice it may be really bad.

Also i would have them spend 1-2 hours a week playing the different popular mmos out there so they also get an idea of how other companies do things on their side. It might inspire them or they might find the answer to problems they are ecountering. Im not saying to copy but to broaden their vision of how a MMORPG should work.
