Steps of Faith and Roullete

My FC mates keep telling me to give up on Trial Roulette for at least the next few weeks but I don't listen. I queue up anyway. I do get Steps often but I've only failed at it twice, and that because just no one would listen. I have no problem explaining things, oft-times I do it anyway because even if someone has done it once or twice, there may be something that they did not know.

And it's always great when you finish it and you get the groups that are like "OMG Thank you! I've been trying to do this for 4 HOURS!"

I finally broke down and went into Steps of Faith as my 107 WAR instead of my 122 bard because we kept having tanks abandon on us.

My 107 WAR managed to finally clear it when I offered to run the towers, freeing up a DPS to attack the boss.

On a similar note about stuff in roulette, how about putting odin's trial INTO roulette? Unfortunately, I didn't get to do it as it came out, so I missed the big rush and now it's an hour+ long queue and 85% chance of failing.

Odin is more like an Extreme Trial than HM. You could start up a PF group with card farming in the title, bunch of people may sign up for that. I personally got it done before they fixed the auto-attack problem. Made it a lot harder lol

All the extremes involve some sort of mechanic that revolves around 2 tanks. (Some of which may be circumvented, but the basic strategy revolves around two)
There are also mechanics that healers have to handle in many of them. (Cleansing debuffs in Mog EX, Briny Mirror in Levi EX, Searing Wind Ifrit EX, Gaol Titan EX..etc.)

Odin however, has no such mechanic. I would even go as far as to say Odin has no mechanics at all.

One tank: Tank the boss, dodge telegraphed aoes
DPS & Other tank: Hit boss, hit adds, dodge telegraphed aoes
Healers: Heal, dodge telegraphed aoes

Eh? o_o It isn't in the roulette? That is weird.

This reminds me of that time when I kept getting Chrysalis and the DPS would pick up all the red balls only and they would die xD

I cleared this one a couple of days ago, I guess I was just lucky. On my first group (with one changed dps due to dc), we cleared it on the second attempt. We had just two people with previous experience, and me who watched the video. The tank that knew the fight explained it to everyone and where everyone should be. The run went smoothly once everything was explained after the first wipe.

It should stay in the roulette. There are always going to be people that don't know the fight and are unwilling (or incapable) of listening/learning. It's only more apparent in this one because you can't carry a group that doesn't know what they're doing by being over-geared and/or leading by example during the fight. There are many more players that need to know what to do (and not just follow along by mimicking someone else). Which makes it more frustrating when you don't reach that minimum requirment of knowledgeable players.

I really like the fight, but only in pre-mades. If I get it in Roulette I drop ASAP, sorry, I've have enough drain bramage trying to unite a roulette PUG.

Agree with OP. I really dont feel this is your average trial. It's somewhat Akin to the Odin fight, which Im thankful is not part of the Duty Roullette.
Please remove it from Trials.

The main point of Roulette is to help others progress. Odin and Ultima (Hard) are not required for progression, and so don't show up in Roulette. Steps of Faith is very important for progression, so it makes sense that it be a part of Roulette.

In fact, I'd go so far to say that if folks are abandoning Steps of Faith, SE either needs to apply more carrot (more Tomestone rewards if you wind up in SoF) or more stick (if you wind up in SoF and bail, you get stuck with a bigger penalty, maybe lose your Trial Roulette Tomestone bonus for the day). Or both.

If folks are upset that SoF is in Trial Roulette because it interferes with their Tomestone collecting, they need to understand something: Trial Roulette is not there in order to get you Tomestones. Rather, the Tomestones are there to get you to do Trial Roulette. If the Roulette rewards are not enough to entice you to risk ending up in SoF, don't do Trial Roulette. If enough people follow suit, SE will wake up and do something to make potential SoF worth the risks - but taking it out of Trial Roulette is very unlikely to happen.
