    Dragoon PVP Ability info

A few times in Frontlines I've been hit by a dragoon using an ability that amazes me & I'd like to know more info as I'm not a DRG.

What happens is that I'll be near the top of an opponent's ramp in the Heliodome when the DRG suddenly drops from the sky straight on top of me. I've checked with team members who have been on the ramp, & at the bottom, at the moment the attack happens & they claim to have not seen the DRG at all. They aren't coming from behind me (I've watched) & not from the ramp so where are they coming from & what is the ability used called?

If I can find out it may be a useful tactic for my teammates to use.

If its caked in fire, dragonfire dive

If it stuns you, spineshatter dive

    If neither, jump

The reason why people don't see the dragoon beforehand is because he came from the jump pad, people near the jump pad have not rendered if you are standing on the ramp and will only render when they have finished thier sick air time

DRG can elusive jump off the center plateau.

They were probably at the very top of their ramp, saw you below, and elusive Jumped over the edge to land right next to you. (could have been me, I'm always doing it, especially in secure 24 matches where getting from mid to OP asap is essential).

It doesn't always work. Sometimes the elusive jump will be finicky and your character will rub against the side of the plateau as the jump animation is happening.

If that happens then it's no longer jumping but falling, and you'll sustain damage or death hitting the bottom.

I've been told that you can actually use Elusive Jump mid fall and that too will save from death. I haven't tested this method myself though so someone else would have to confirm.

edit: just to be clear, when elusive jumping over an edge of the plateau, it's not like the animation gets longer or there is a period in which your character is falling. when you character clips the edge while in EJ animation, you essentially teleport to the next ground plane (the water beneath the ramp). That's what makes it handy.

edit edit: understand how elusive jump works, your character isn't really jumping. Stand with your back next to a waist-high fence and try to back-flip over said fence. You won't. You'll get stuck on it. This action is actually a straight backwards teleport with a delayed execution. Your character never leaves the ground plane (just the animation looks like you are).

edit edit edit: missed the part where you said you were at the top.. sorry

Thanks, it's a great manoeuvre and the explanations give possible reasons for how it happens. I've seen it most recently in Secure so it must be doable without the jump pad. I don't think it stuns or has fire but I'm usually too busy to notice. =)

Having spent time examining this I'm convinced it's a position hack and the DRG is just dropping from above. The player is dropping at EXACTLY the same spot, even if it misses someone at the top.

There's just no way they can be jumping from below in Secure. I could see an argument in Slaughter, where they could be using the jump pad, but not in Secure.
