I haven't seen much discussion on it but what are people's thoughts on Urianger at the end of the 2.55 cutscenes? Is he an ascian? Their leader maybe? I was fairly confused by this and was wondering what others have speculated.

Seeing that Elidibus called i would deny the possibility for him to be their leader.
I also don't think he is an ascian himself, at most he is mind controlled or a collaborationist.
But we were also once called by Elidibus so it is possible that he is neither, but I would Keep a close eye to him durnig the 3.x storyline just in case.
I had the fun conspiracy theory that he'd made a deal with them to try to get Moenbryda back, but that's just my shipper's heart.
I think he's been involved with them from the beginning, perhaps even pre 1.0. He's confirmed to be a Duskwight and lore stereotypes say they're always more susceptible to evil. (Someone is also saying he's something crazy like 1500 years old, but he couldn't have grown up with Moenbryda in Sharlaya if that was the case, which was the impression I got from her cutscenes. Then again, he does use an old dialect...)
I think he's a double agent.
Dunno why everyone thinks he's gone evil tbh. If it were Lahabrea that he spoke with then I'd be more convinced, but Elidibus isn't exactly the biggest of baddies (at least not yet). Something is certainly going on between the two, though I don't think he's conspiring against us. Urianger is a prophet from Sharlayan, foretelling the events of 1.0's Calamity with Louisoix and attempting to prevent it, which leads me to believe he definitely isn't trying to cause chaos - which is what the Ascians want. However, I couldn't really speculate on what is up with Urianger and Elidibus, so for all I know he could be working for the Ascians and all that. Just feels like there's too little to go on, one tiny cutscene doesn't really clue us in one much.
As has already been stated the fact that it's implied that Elidibus contacted him which is not that different from prior events in the 2.xx story up to this point. Previously he had already come in direct contact with Minfilia in the Solar in the waking sands and was not detected by anyone. He just shows up and is like "What up guys!" From there he procedes to toy with both Minfilia and ourselves (WoL) to unknown ends.
That said, since he clearly knows about the Scions and can seemingly go where ever the heck he wants without being stopped by guards he could have tried to posses others at any time but didn't. That said, it seems like Urianger had a choice in the matter and approached him of his own accord. The reason is of course unknown, but it could be a deal to bring back Moenbryda (though I doubt he would fall for that) or he could be trying to collect info on the current situation and decide what to do next. A really tough call to say the least.
Clearly put,we will have to wait til 3.0 to get any real answers .

I hope it's something to do with Moenbryda...they keep talking about her and all so maybe that flower Yda planted had some more meaning to it.
It would be interesting...As a new Scion she was my 2nd favourite character and ACTUALLY had personality. Loved her.
Very lame to have a good character die in like 3 parts...
...I'm looking at you Mami Tomoe...
he was always a man with secrets

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Urianger is not evil, he was called upon by Elidibus to discuss something, and being the very judicious person he is, he was like "ok I'll see what's up with this guy". They seemed to be coming together as two sensible people on opposing sides, is all; kind of like a war discussion. It might just have to do with the next steps for the Ascians. Elidibus was always fairly transparent as far as enemies go.
This. Also remember the first time when we meet Elidibus, he says something to the effect of the laws of man changing so much that we would dare to raise our hand against an Emissary. This implies he has visited and spoken with people in the past. He's something like a messenger. We don't know the history of between us and the Emissaries but Urianger has been researching that this entire time. It's possible he discovered something and Elidibus wants to discuss something now that Urianger is aware.I don't think it's anything to worry about. While it could definitely have been Urianger turning to be evil and working with the Ascians, I've been wondering if Elidibus was actually contacting him privately to plot-dump to him in an attempt to thwart/kill Lahabrea. There is the possibility that now that you've killed one of them, Elidibus has decided to direct your Ascianicide toward people he doesn't like (Lahabrea) instead of, say, himself.
Of course, I was mostly asleep at the time when I saw the cutscene, which was after a looooooot of cutscenes. Also still shouting "WHY ARE YOU SO DUUUUMB?!" at all of the characters (especially the WoL).
