This, this, this, this, this.
I don't know why it's so hard a concept for some players to grasp. While each role obviously has tasks that they're supposed to be good at, (Tanks tanking and all that) ensuring team survival is everyone's duty. Even the DPS. Having fun (because this IS a game) should be something that every person gets to experience too. Not just the DPS.
I've recently been having runs where after all the time I've spent tanking dungeons and knowing when to throw out silence and stun moves, I find myself doing the same thing all the time whenever I play as DPS roles now. My DRG has actually been getting an impressive amount of commendations lately, due to most likely the following three things I've been doing ever since I went back to DPSing.
1: Using Elusive Jump to cleverly get out of the way of AoEs quickly. (And drop some of my aggro)
2: Following up with "1", I actually dodge stuff. I may have finally gotten around to really gearing up one of my DPS roles into being a monster on DPS output and I'm sporting about 6600 HP as my DRG, but I'm not going to just sit there and eat attacks yo. (For the record, all my Poetics spending went to the Tank armor and accessories first) Granted though, being only human, I may make the occasional blunder of getting by an AoE anyway.
3: Using one of the two stun moves to prevent enemies from unleashing party wiping moves. Usually, the Tank(s) player(s) I'm working with have this covered, but sometimes an extra stun needs to get thrown out on another enemy that they didn't direct their own stun move at. (Pharos Sirius has situations like this if you pull those floating crystals and slimes all together at once) WARs in particular seem to like me backing them up on stunning. PLDs just shrug though, due to their Shield Bash skills, lol.
And that's just what I thought up. There may be other reasons why my DRG has been getting an impressive amount of commendations lately, but I don't know what those reasons may be, lol. Regardless, long story short, it goes to show that things can and will go smoother if everyone pulls their weight. Bonus points if you own up to your own mistakes.
Also, that HiveLeader's Guide video made my day. Thanks for posting that deos.![]()
