    is this a common occurrence?

I was doing Brayflox longstop with a friend earlier and i was playing on my level 32 scholar. Everything was going pretty well until we made it to Aiatar. Our tank couldn't dodge the aoe attack to save his life so i couldn't do anything to keep him standing. We wiped twice and all of a sudden my friend says "bro their trying to boot you." I was obviously upset so i asked them what the reasoning was and the tank says "your accessories are under leveled." The two dps told him how stupid that was so he left and we cleared it first try with the new tank.

I hope this isn't what healing is like, because that's the whole reason i stopped maining my tank. I hate how much blame people throw around in this game. Its very discouraging some times.

Some inexperienced tanks think that they are more indestructible than they are and that they should be able to eat just about anything with healer support. Even at high levels of play this is often untrue since the tank should still use cooldowns and generally try to avoid AoEs.

Lol i think I'm a decent player. I want to feel challenged so i like the idea of tanking or healing, but the duty finder crowd is just brutal sometimes. My friend who left destiny with me plays a dps. Even he gets shit pretty frequently and it's a lot less noticeable when dps makes a mistake.

Unfortunately, the best advice to give is "grow a thicker skin" (and I say that without sarcasm or malice, trust me). You're going to run into idiots who think they are God given's gift and cannot be faulted but when you disassemble their attitude, gear, and skill, they're pretty much terrible.

Don't give up and don't let go!

I will definitely take that advice. I've done the dungeon 5 times since without problems. It was just my first time and it bothered me that i was being blamed for the groups failure.

    ^ This.

A good chunk of the time, people don't want to draw attention to their own mistakes, or are blind to the facts around them - so they blame the people they depend on most... even when it's clearly their fault.

In addition, you'll run into times where you will just have your off days, or some fights that you'll personally find more difficult on healer (my bard + Odin trial = I'm golden. My WHM + Odin trial = suddenly can't dodge for shit?) - and people will just tear into you without remorse, understanding or forgiveness. Both tanks and healers get similar treatment. Funny how both classes are the life blood and bloodied sacrifice for the party and yet often treated the worst. Just know that without you, the party - even the tank - is doomed. If they have an attitude problem, that's their fault and their problem - not yours.
It does hurt to be attacked when you're doing everything you can, but a stone skin is needed (easier said than done, I know). Think of it as part of the challenge
You're pretty lucky the DPS called him out, rather than just saying nothing and going with what ever flow is tossed out (like a vote kick).
Best I've ever got was, "o.O But he's not that bad" *Suddenly kicked*

I don't think some accessories being under-leveled is the largest problem (but then again, it's Bray.... *shudder*) you could have (not like it was left side and weapon under leveled) - so that sounds like an awkward excuse on his part. Bray NM is also twice as difficult on SCH without the ability to use Leeches. Thrice as hard with a particularly inexperienced or lazy tank.

I have sympathy for the OP too, but cmon, twice or thrice... no need to resort to such exaggerations.

    From experience...

Tank dies, healer's fault. Healer dies, tank's fault. End point. Party wipes, everyone at fault.

If you are playing a Healer, you priority is not letting people die, it is not your fault if the party is actively making it hard. Healer gear isn't quite as relevant as Tank gear is, since Healers are about timing. If you're really undergeared, you'd run out of MP super-fast. DPS aren't usually to blame for a wipe, but if they are not trying to avoid taking damage (particularly SMN, BLM and BRD) then then stop healing them and keep focus on the Tank. If DPS dies, then that is their fault.

Most of the time DPS die due to monster mechanics. Tanks die from overestimating their abilities, or doing stupid things.
