Speed run etiquette

I know I don't give commendations to people if they don't talk. They could be the most skilled individual at their job but they're not getting a commendation if they don't at least say hello.

As to the topic at hand? I agree. It's most upsetting when you get a new player notification and the tank still bolts at the start and expects a speed run.

I'm all for speed running content if you can do it but people need to stop treating other players like indispensable NPCs.

Step 1: ask.
If yes: speed run.
If no: don't.

Doesn't really need to be any more complicated than that.

As a Tank, it was pretty easy to start the match and say, "Are you comfortable with me pulling the zone?" We institutionalized a small flow-chart as suggested by Gramul;

"Hello! Are you comfortable with me pulling heavy?"

Yes: Pull zone!
No: Fight each monster pack separately.

There have been situations where the healer has overestimated their healing power, and we reevaluate the situation after a pull if it resulted in a wipe. I agree wholeheartedly with Gramul, though: No need to complicate it.

Define "speed run". I pull 2 packs at a time in DF because... it's 2 packs of trash that only do random AOEs. The only time where multipulling doesn't work out so fantastically is Lost City but I don't do HL roulette anymore.

Most people expect a "Speed-Run"... it's the norm. Letting people die only teaches them you're a bad healer and are to be avoided.

THIS! So much this! I have been farming for 2 sets of Zodiac items the last few weeks so I have had plenty exposure to some really impatient people. I cannot be the only healer that meets these types of people:
"Circle goes down! Doesn't matter the healer is the last to load in, I need to run out of buffcasting range even though I see them cast, but by the time they finish I am out of range, waiting over there for them!"
Please! Someone explain that logic to me. Can people not stand still for 5 seconds so I can finish Protect and Swiftcast+Stoneskin 2?
