Reinstalled game from HD to SSD and started having lag spikes (network not graphical)

I know it shouldnt be related at all but jsut after unisntalling from normal HD and installign again on SSD it started happening, had never happened before, any idea?

Did you just install FFXIV on the SSD, or is this a complete OS install + Games, Drivers etc on this SSD?

Maybe it's still trying to access information off the old HDD FFXIV game file on top of accessing your SSD install. Possibly writing the log files?

If your SSD is big enough, you may want to try putting a fresh OS install on the SSD along with the FFXIV client.

I might be able to answer this, but you won't like the solution.

If you are playing the game from a separate drive from the OS drive, the OS drive might be spinning down at inopportune times to save power, so all the lag spikes are from the drive being powered back up.

I'd recommend playing the game and installing the OS to the same drive, or failing that just change the power management to never turn off the hard drives (including externals.)

The only other possibility for lag spikes induced by a hardware change is that there is too many large-file changes.

A serious problem with SSD's is that making large changes at once induces latency because it needs to refresh certain parts of the drive for wear leveling. I've seen Samsung SSD's do this.
