When I first did the 8 man story dungeons I had the courtesy to skip the cutscenes and watch them later because I knew the seven people who had already done it wouldnt want to wait around for me to watch them. Unlike the OP im not a selfish jerk who puts their enjoyment of the game before anyone elses.

So you think I should have watched the cutscenes and held the group up? That makes you a jerk. Some people just have no consideration for other players.

People aren't jerks for playing the game exactly how it was designed to be. The core issue is a design one which fortunately SE seems to have realised and not repeated.

However, for players who the storytelling is a core factor in there enjoyment having to watch the cutscenes out of context and after the instance taints the experience, particularly due to the fact that the cutscenes aren't well arranged in the inn so you literally have to switch back and forth between tabs just to watch the cutscenes in the correct order.

There are two sides to this argument and at its heart it is a design issue so no side is particularly to blame. However the existence of the Main Scenario Roulette is to facilitate access for players to a core and compulsory part of the story experience. The rewards are specifically designed with that in mind and frankly are pretty generous considering the ease of the content. By queuing for the Roulette you are effectively signing up to the fact you will highly likely be facilitating a new player in their end of 2.0 experience.

This experience can make or break a new players view of the game. I know people who have quit because their experience ruined the story for them and gave them a negative view of the player base. While the cutscenes are badly placed you cant blame players for feeling their experience is ruined when all they have done is play the game exactly as it was designed. Story, for some players, is the main motivation for them to be playing.

While it might not impact on us directly, new players are the lifeblood of MMOs. Player churn is a reality of MMO populations. Players who are driven off by an experience they have to go through is in the long run bad for the game and as a result bad for us as players. This is particularly true as a game ages.

No people are jerks for having no consideration for the other 7 members of their group. Its not hard to understand.

Putting long cutscenes in the middle of dungeons that are meant to be repeated is moronic design, but I dont see how that excuses people from being selfish.

If a few people are driven off because they think other players should treat them as special because they are new then good riddence to them.

Is there a way to delete people from real life? Because I do believe this entire post just gave me cancer.

Anyway, I think this thread has reached its constructive end. If I could call for a thread lock right now, I would, but there's notable lack of a "report thread" button on this forum. So I'll just sit back and watch this thread burn for the most part now.

EDIT: I know about that "Report Post" button, but that's just for calling out a single post. I wonder if it could work for an entire thread lock though..

You already made it clear that you don't want people to queue for CM/Prae anymore in your wall of text.

However, I think you're overestimating the number of good samaritans out there who want to spend dozen of minutes inside a dungeon for a crappy Soldiery/Time ratio.

Every possible outcome from this situation is bad. The goal is to pick the lesser evil.
Kitano123's way to see it still allow new players to queue quite fast into these dungeons and get things done. Sure, not with the best possible experience, but they can still do it regardless, thanks to the "jerks" you want to kill so bad.
Your solution, on the other hand, while protecting the experiences of the new players, will drastically increase the queue time for these dungeons, to the point that they might have to queue only on peak hours during weekend to get in.

The fact that you want to end Kitano123's life because what you was reading "gave you cancer", doesn't mean that your solution is better.
In fact, your solution is just an utopia (and you probably know that, sorry).

Don't call it done because you're done. It's not for you to decide.

You have this attitude because I dont like selfish people? Wow, just wow.

Its quit simple and infact SE agress with me, if the majority of the group doesnt want to watch cut scenes then the single person who does is at fault. The group was gracious enough not to kick the OP for being a jerk which they are entirely within there rights to do.

If you think its ok for people to be selfish then complain to SE.

Wow... Seriously uncalled for! All that over someone who opposes your opinion? You're the sick on here...

As someone who has personally stood at the bedside of several close relatives who died from cancer, I'm seriously offended you even took the time to write some garbage like that...

Disgusting, you are a disgusting human being. Glad I don't know you in RL.

Afterthought: I hope you get a perma ban.

Actually, what shouldn't be difficult to understand is that you shouldn't be signing up for a cutscene-heavy dungeon that marks the culmination of the 2.0 storyline unless you plan on patiently sitting through said cutscenes. You are not required to revisit these dungeons a second time, ever. If you exercise the option of doing so you should be completely prepared for new players who have an understandable expectation of watching those cutscenes. Especially when you're likely queueing for these dungeons knowing the soldiery bonus shows up there frequently (thanks to new players). This is not rocket science.

When the dungeon is played as designed, those cutscenes that pepper the run make for quite a memorable and enjoyably epic experience. I'm actually sad there aren't more dungeons like this. Unfortunately, we're likely not to see this particular design happen anymore because some players are neither patient enough nor courteous enough to not cause problems for those who are trying to enjoy the whole RPG aspect of this MMORPG.

Lastly, when it comes to MMORPGs like this one, I'd rather see it populated by people who appreciate and prioritize the whole RPG aspect over those who are only concerned with how quickly they can grind out tomestones.
