Why I have no interest in Coils more specifically, T9.

People like you make me not want to do coil even more. Anyone who doesnt do it or has no interest is automatically "ignorant". I dont see the need to use that word so much other than to give yourself a sense of superiority.

I use the word because it is extremely fitting for this. I do not consider people who don't want to do coil or have no interest in it as 'ignorant'. I simply class them as they don't care for it and that is that, everyone enjoys different aspects of the game.
However you have come along and stated that it's boring, that its just a test of memory and that if you just memorize it then it's not a challenge, what makes YOU ignorant (not others) is that you say all this based on assumptions, as you have admitted that you have never even set foot inside turn 9. Those who have done the fights have said to you that reading the fight and doing the fight are two different things.


I've said this before and I'll say it again, doing end game raiding doesn't make me better than anyone else in this game, it's just the part of the game that I dedicate the most time too as it's where I get most of my enjoyment from. That's all there is to it. So when someone comes along and makes assumptions about the end game raiding stating that it's boring or easy without even trying it themselves, then of course I'll consider them ignorant.

I'm not sure how many more times this needs to be said, the fight is indeed scripted, but that doesn't mean you're going to down it just by memorising it.

What do you do if you're going to get a double fire or double ice, that's not part of your memory as it doesn't always happen? Can you identify and mark the divebomb patterns as its 1 of 3? What if a meteor is placed incorrectly? Can you adjust for that? Awkward phase changes if you pushed it too fast or too slow?

Just because you KNOW what the next attack is going to be, that doesn't automatically mean everyone can do it. So many people know the rotation but cannot handle both the boss mechanics and perform well on their own class. That comes down to player skill, not memory.

PF is a great example of this in turn 10, the mechanics are pretty easy, and there aren't many of them, but without echo DPS classes struggle to get the DPS needed to down the boss before enrage, I'm sure they can perform their rotation well on a training dummy, but can they do it while dealing with mechanics?

The fight is a set rotation, but there are things that can and will go wrong and you have to adjust, people still get hit by divebombs or misplace meteors, not stacked in time for thermionic, hit the party with thunder because they didn't see they had the debuff and you might call that bad memory, I call that bad reaction time. You can know a thunder is coming up, but if you don't pay attention and miss that it's on you or move in time, then you've just hit the entire party with paralyze. You don't need to memorise the rotation, you just need to know the mechanics, and if you don't react in time to certain things you'll pay for it.

lolno, not being interested in coil doesn't make you ignorant. coil doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, and that's completely understandable.

Making assumptions and statements such as not challenging, pure memory tests, boring, blahblah without actually trying it yourself is ignorant.

You are no different from the "real elitists" that bash on the things that causal players do that hardcore raiders don't typically enjoy, except on the extreme opposite end of the spectrum.
