Thing is...how are you going to develop a new content within so little time frame?
This is what happens when you absolutely must complete all new content within days of release. personally I still have 3 patches worth of stuff to do, and that's not because I decided not to keep up, I simply got busy with other things in game. There is so much to do between leveling DoL, DoH classes, combat classes, relic weapons, gearing, Gold Saucer, housing, sight seeing, dailies, eternal bonding, hunting, etc... I still have so much to do before 3.0, there's no chance of being bored.
Seriously, If people would take a more measured approach to the game and diversify their activities, the content would last a lot longer.

And there would be less pressure on producing content quickly enough, giving teams much needed breathing space to produce better content.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
If you cant find something to do for alittle over 2 months than jsut take a little break till launch. FFXIV has been very good about keeping content going. I still ahve classes to level and gil to make to get ready. Wow goes years befor any real content would you like to go play that and feel bored after a month? have some patience I feel 3.0 is gonna be worth the wait.

I for one have plenty of content to keep me full for the next few months. Two more classes to get to 50, grinding out my relic finally, making oodles of money off the boards, getting back into chocobo racing...
Or, you could take a break and play some other games. TESO is free now.

There's always relic quest if you don't mind resisting the temptation of killing yourself while doing them. Or perhaps you an try leveling other classes. DoL, and then DoH are a great way to make money, and should be done when you don't have anything really to do.
If you don't like coils, don't go into coils, don't listen to people trying to get you in there. There's always youtube.

I have sooooooo much crap left to do; even though I don't really raid I'm looking forward to trying out the Coils at least once, the CT stuff has been fun enough despite trolling (which is part of the fun I suppose), and now that I got what I want for the moment on PLD (nearly the full of Light set) I'm trying to build up to Bard, and play around with WHM.
Your mileage may vary ofc, but there's still a lot of random crap to do if you don't want to take break, making more content now would just be unnecessary dev pressure.
