I'm still astounded by the amount of people who hit the clouds from behind rather than slowing them from the front.

I've been witness to a number of wins only made possible by using Last Bastion and it was always a last second decision instead of planned from the start. And this all before they lifted the loot lock. Intentionally falling back onto Last Bastion to survive might be new, but I never do WoD anymore besides once a week for the quest so I wouldn't know if it's commonplace.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
It is commonplace during prime queue times. Alliances state it at the start or Cerberus. I have never won once with this tactic. Guessing I lucked out on getting decent groups until the lock was lifted.I've been witness to a number of wins only made possible by using Last Bastion and it was always a last second decision instead of planned from the start. I have been an alliance that has saved the raid with that tank LB. :P
I've seen it save the run several times. Even if the other two alliances wipe, the boss is usually only a few percent from dead anyway. I've run WoD probably two dozen times in the last week alone in various roles (gearing BLM and MNK up a bit, it's filler till I can get Dreadwyrm/Ironworks) and I've seen 2 or 3 saves in just that time.
When I go in as monk, I stay on the boss. If any clouds get close, I destroy them. :3Or just kill the clouds? I dunno. . .
You should be able to keep a few DPS on the boss without adds getting through. If that's not true, there's already something wrong. If *no one* is staying on the boss and adds are still getting through, you don't deserve to win, sorry. >_>
Doing it intentionally? Nope... Doing it as a oh shit we got a few clouds through for whatever reason. Yup plenty of times. And it saved the runs - saved one alliance, rez healers from the other, they pulse of life and everyone back on their feet. The problem is that most will ignore that second bit.
Even before the unlock. If she swallowed a large cloud or more than 2 small ones. The Tank has to LB at the right moment so the party is buffed against the damage increase. Nothing really new except the spread of dps per party.. you could have 10 bards across all parties. Wont change the fact you'll probably need that LB to survive twice.
I've never gone into WoD wanting to use Tank LB3, but if the dps are terribad and she gets about 7+ stacks I'll blow it in a last hope that I can salvage the raid and I'll also say in /a that I am doing it, so other tanks do the same.
Anything below 7 I think it was and you can survive with a succor/sacred soil/cup your balls and pray the parties HP isn't too low.
Although this was when WoD first came out, can't say I run it much anymore. Rather farm FCOB than try to win against 23 other people + 4 bosses.

I've never seen this happen when I'm in WoD... people actually wipe on cloud of darkness?
