Need pug for internal release and gld to 22 for provoke. But thats about it maybe gld to 32 for awareness for certain coils
For tanking you'll need mostly:
1) Provoke - Gladiator lvl 22
2) Flash - Gladiator lvl 8
3) Convalescence - Gladiator lvl 10

Nope, the cross-class system is pretty minor at the moment, so not too difficult to get set up.
That being said, I would always suggest leveling your complimentary class (so for WAR, that would be PLD), and a DPS class, because many fights only require 1 tank, and it's nice to be able to say "Oh sure, I can switch" instead of "Oh, well I guess I'll sit out."
Awareness (gla 34) is also actually worth getting now, but the above skills are the most important ^.
Internal release/featherfoot, are also ones you could pick up from pugilist. I prefer featherfoot.
Provoke, Flash, Awareness and Convalescence from Gladiator. Internal Release from Pugilist. Nothing else that you can get is really worth using.
I think what is considered best in slot for warrior abilities right now is a bit different than these suggestions. Provoke is almost ALWAYS going to be needed. If it's a single target fight with no tank swaps or adds where you are sure you'll never lose hate, swap it out for something else. But yeah provoke is 99% must have. Convalescence is one of the best cooldowns ever in terms of defense, don't argue against it. An interesting application is creating a pseudo defiance for extra DPS when paired with thrill of battle. Second Wind is a free self heal and ALWAYS useful. When you get low on hp and aren't sure if you'll be healed just yet, this could be life or death. Plus, it's awesome with berserk and the next ability and wrath stacks. The next ability is internal release. More DPS, bigger self heals when they crit. No reason not to have it. The next two skills are interchangable depending on the fight: flash/awareness. Flash is great for getting Aggro when in a circle of mobs. It's also good when running low on TP to keep aggro, or when pacified and you have nothing better to do. It's not necessary if you do other things right though. Awareness reduces chances of getting critically hit. Good with large packs of mobs or certain fights. But not amazing. Lastly you have two other options that are MAYBE decent in certain situations but generally never used. Featherfoot increases evasion. Good with large packs of mobs and that's about it. Mantra is kinda lame compared to convalescence and a monk or bard should take care of it for you anyways. Other cross class abilities suck. Don't even know the others.
Tl;dr: Provoke, Convalescence, Second Wind, Internal Release, Flash/Awareness.
